We believe #mentalhealth services should be available when you need them. That's why, across @CohenVeterans clinics the expected wait time between your first contact and a first appointment is less than one week. Don't wait. Start getting #BackToBetter today.
Fear has become a huge part of my life. It does not control it, nor does it define it, but it’s there. It sits in the shadows and waits for me to break my gaze, even if only for a split second, so it can make its move. For me, I can not overcome my fear by ignoring it; I have to acknowledge it and push through it. I wish more than anything I could “forget everything and run.” I wish that fear was only stopping me from achieving my dreams. Well since my dream is life, or more accurately survival, failure really isn’t an option. I HAVE TO RISE. Every morning I face the reality of my fear, I am in the battle for my life. I guess in some strange way the fear makes me stronger. It’s presence doesn’t allow me to drop my gaze or to stop fighting, it forces me to face every day head on with all my might. My choice is very clear, I FACE EVERYTHING AND RISE!!!!!! #youwouldtoo#beatingbreastcancer#breastcancerwarrior#pennmedicine#fearless#fightforyourlife#breastcancerawareness
These little bubbles are called exosomes. Scientists once thought exosomes just took out the trash inside the cell. But recently, @PennMedicine researchers figured out exosomes do much more – even regulate the immune system during #cancer . Scientists say a quick blood test that measures a marker carried by exosomes could help gauge whether patients will respond to checkpoint inhibitor-based #immunotherapy . Such a test could make it clear earlier on which patients could benefit from these life-saving therapies. Learn more about exosomes and their newfound link to #immunotherapy , work funded in part by the Parker Institute, in the latest article at www.parkerici.org. Link in profile.
#PennMedicine hospitals are taking a step in the right direction. They are removing all beverages with added sugars in order to encourage healthy behavior.

Congratulations to all the students who are starting their journey to becoming physicians at the Perelman School of Medicine during today's White Coat Ceremony! Welcome to Penn!
This past Friday morning we met and presented Melissa with her upcoming wish vacation to San Francisco. The timing for Melissa to “take a breather” couldn’t be better as she is currently recovering from a CF exacerbation.
Pictured here with Melissa is her mom, Melanie; Dr. Hadjiliadis (CF Care Team); Kelly McCullough from Allergan, who helped make this wish possible; and Bruce Leto, Jr. from Take A Breather.
We all hope you get well soon Melissa, so you can get home and start packing! Welcome to the Take A Breather family!
