On our way to Marfa, we stopped in for two nights at Seminole Canyon State Park. Second visit. We made dinner, then stepped out of the trailer for an evening stroll. Whoa! Not so fast, cowgirl. 〰️ This is the biggest snake I have seen outside a zoo. And I've seen some rattlesnakes, on trails, in the road, etc. And she did not want to move. Eventually, her highness moved off to the left, straight for the tent of the two ladies camping across from us. They were not happy. "Just make sure your tent zippers are closed"......yeah.
I needed the reminder. It's a wild place. 360° views, dark skies, and that night, the most amazing electrical storm we have ever experienced. Right above us. All night.
Just what we ordered.
"Don’t dismiss the elements. Water soothes and heals. Air refreshes and revives. Earth grounds and holds. Fire is a burning reminder of our own will and creative power. Swallow their spells. There’s a certain sweet comfort in knowing that you belong to them all." #fire#water#slowmotion#balloonfiesta#pecosriver
Continental Ranch Roundup this past weekend was a blast! For those of you who missed it, keep an eye out for another weekend of access this February! Tons of moderate sport routes on some of the best limestone in the state!

As usual curiosity struck as we passed over the Pecos River flowing deep below in between two gorgeous exposed rock walls. After hopping a barbed wire fence, trekking across an abandoned road, and making friends with some goats I scaled down the wall about 30ft to snap a good shot at the cutout.
