So I am not sure if any of you guys are from Toronto 🇨🇦 but today was extremely hot, like unbearable!!! I do not recall a hotter day ever!! (You guys, I was born in Brampton and this is my first summer ever!). So my hooman told me she is from a far away land called Spain 🇪🇸, you guys ever heard about it? She said that summers there are much more hotter and humid ☀️☀️☀️ hooman, I'm sorry but I do not want to visit your homeland on summer!!! 🐾🐾🐾
We’re experiencing a heat wave right now on the East Coast. It’s out of control, disgustingly, uncomfortably🔥. The last thing I wanted to do when I came home tonight was turn on the oven. Thankfully, smoothie bowls came to my rescue! .
#smoothies and #smoothiebowls can have a bad reputation for being hidden sugar bombs, and they totally can be. But depending on what you put in them, they can also be a well-balanced, complete meal loaded with a serving of #veggies , #fruit , #hearthealthy fat, and #leanprotein . To cut down on the sugar and prevent them from being sugar bombs, I try to limit the amount of fruit I put in them to no more than 1 cup per serving. .
Tonight I made a #peaches 🍑 and #pineapple 🍍smoothie bowl (I’ve been on a #peach kick lately so I figured why not stop now 🤣) with 1/2 cup frozen 🍑and 1/2 cup frozen 🍍. I added 1 cup of #ricedcauliflower for a serving of veggies (green leafy veggies and riced #cauliflower are my usual veggie staples) and 1 cup of @ripplefoods #unsweetened#peaprotein milk for a serving of lean protein (you can also sub with any other dairy or #dairyfree milk) and 2 Tbsp. of Greek yogurt for a little bit of creaminess. To get my #healthyfats in, I topped my smoothie bowl with a teaspoon of #chiaseeds and #hempseeds and a small handful of almonds (or you can top with any other nut or nut butter). I added a little #beepollen and @purely_elizabeth plain #glutenfree granola for some visual appeal and crunch. Even though it tastes delicious, I try to go easy on the granola because the calories, carbs, and added sugar can easily add up. .

💙🍑 Lately some of my favourite beads have been made with scrap clay, like this periwinkle and peach necklace. With no plan of attack or idea in mind I randomly grab bits of leftover clay and hope for the best. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. While this combination may not be to everyone’s taste, I love the contrast and pattern this cane created. 🍑💙
