Feelin a little restless at the moment. The last two years, I've spent August on the road. This year I have a little too much on my plate on the home front, so I'll be stickin' around for the summer. It was a hard call to make, but I know it's the right decision for me.
These pictures are from a random stroll last summer in Rome. I got up earlyish that morning and walked from our spot near Campo di Fiori to a little laundromat in some ancient neighborhood across the Tiber. It was a beautiful walk through winding streets paved with sampietrini, and the summer sun was low enough that the air still had a hint of morning chill to it. On my way back, I saw a couple of these #pasteups , and I had to get a picture, cuz I felt like I'd found a kindred spirit (it's even centered above a door). Then a couple alleys down, I stumbled upon this piece by the one and only #MissVan , which someone had covered with a protective sheet. Often times, it's the #inbetween times that really make a journey amazing. Those moments that we trip over along the way. . . The little unplanned snacks off the beaten path that end up being the best 🥐 you'll ever have; the views from rooftops, behind buildings, under bridges; street performers playing regional music; wildflowers growing through the cracks. . .
If anyone knows the name of the artist who did the #ornate#stormtrooper#pasteup , please shoot me their name.
