From our offices, sometime we loose sense of what really is a restaurant company all about. We've been so involved in tech and trickery that we forgot why people go to a restaurant in the first place. So, for me, it's great to be in touch and in tune with my teams, it keeps it real, it keeps me on my toes and on the fun side, it gives me an opportunity to show off my restaurateur skills.😎 Amaze and amuse your customers: free pasta never killed anybody!

I am a sucker for international cuisines. Whenever I travel, I make sure that I make a list of food that I must try in that country. I believe that you get the full traveling experience when you at least eat some of their cuisines rather than bringing your own food and cooking there.
When I was in Spain, the frequently mentioned food that I had to try was the paella. I was there for about a week and we tried several different types of paella. I can’t say that I was slightly disappointed that paella were not what we expected. Slightly bland and it was not as tasty as I expected. The best would have to be the squid ink paella which we tried in the City Centre in Barcelona. Perhaps we did not go to the recommended ones?
Another one that we had to try was the Spanish churros. When I was living in Australia, our favorite hangout with friends would be Sans Churros. Undoubtedly it is one of the best churros and chocolate drinks that I have tasted before. Someone then told me that Spain has better churros. I googled for the best churros shops and decided to visit this one: Churreria Laietana.
The shop dates back over 30 years ago and has been one of the popular places amongst tourists. For Euros 3, we had a plateful of churros with chocolate. I made of mistake of ordering two plates as I had the impression that it was too little to share between the two of us (we ended up feeding the remaining churros to hungry dogs lol). The churros was perfectly brown and crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It was piping hot when we ate them. The churros is dipped in the cup of chocolate. Decadent and not the most calorie friendly of all. I liked this churros but somehow the chocolate was not as rich and chocolate-y as I expected. I’ve also tried churros at a few other places in Barcelona and this would top the list.
