It’s officially winter break! As my last exam was Saturday night, we had originally planned to leave Sunday morning. Of course, this plan did not account for the fact that Owen and I love night driving. So, after a full day of bus work, and studying we headed off for Washington State. There’s nothing quite as peaceful as an empty highway, and fresh falling snow.
As of today I have been on my island for 30 days. My first month has been filled with excitement and adventure and experiences I wouldn't trade for anything. I can't believe what a special place this is. I realize how lucky I am to be here like this and right now I wish it would never end. Thanks to everyone following on my Instagram stories!its great having so much support! 30 days down, 35 to go.
North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum) -
I found this guy lounging in a stand of trees out on the prairies. They eat mainly twigs and leaves, along with other green plants, so they can be found almost anywhere with trees around here.
It was -22 in Lake Louise and me and Jay were feeling the Ahlanitis. But then Brandon came in with his usual "fuck it" attitude and convinced us to just go for it. We were rewarded with an inversion and by the time we started skiing it was so warm we had gloves off and we couldn't even see our breath! Nav had to skin with his fly open hahaha!
