You didn’t think just because I got a job I’d stop volunteering did you? 🙌🏻
It might not be in the capacity that I used to do, however, I’m perfectly happy to make copies for the girls’ teachers. Or test sight words with the kids. Or any other function those teachers need me in. .
They work so hard and I’m happy to take a load off their plate any way I can. ❤️
Hard at Work
Late last night I sent out reminders for the rest of the year. Did you find yours in your inbox?
Included details were teacher absences and make up opportunities, our field trip to the @marylandsymphony in October and more. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you’re going to attend!
You guys, I finally did it🤗! After 7 years of creating my own resources for my kiddos, I finally found the confidence to think other teachers might find them useful too! So I started my own @teacherspayteachers store & posted my first product!! Can you tell how silly excited I am?!?
👩🏼🏫I normally wait until parent teacher conferences to discuss (explain) PHONEMIC AWARENESS with parents but this year I sent home this handout at Back to School and my kiddos have been practicing at home like crazy!! I hope it helps your students (and parents!) as much as it has helped mine!💕 Link to THIS FREEBIE/my TPT store in my bio!
Kairos families are amazing and we greatly appreciate the involvement! We want to honor Mr. Reed who took it upon himself on a Sunday afternoon to spray wash the Kindergarten playground to remove the tree sap that was causing Scholars issues. Thank you families for partnering with us! #parentinvolvement#Kairos
Please read the article by Colorado School Talk highlighting RISE Parent Leaders and all the incredible work they are doing to create equitable systemic change. Link is in our bio!
To quote our Co-Founder and CEO @veronicarpalmer , "...families are the sleeping giant. Once they are awakened to the inequities that exist there is nothing they won’t do to ensure their children receive the excellent education they deserve." The Centralized Language Services Office is a compliment to this sentiment and goes to show the amazing feats parents can accomplish when they raise their voices and fight for change.
HUGE shout out to a RISE Parent Leader, Husanara Makbul Hussin, on delivering an impactful, touching and motivating speech about her story of self and the journey which lead her to the CLSO celebration.
We are excited to see all that RISE Parent Leaders will continue to accomplish!
Thank you to our wonderful PA for hosting our Back to School Breakfast for families and staff! Go on our app to find our PA Exec Boards’s emails in case you weren’t able to stop by but you want to get involved. #ps145parentsrock @nycschools @uftny @followcsa #ps145#parentinvolvement
I saw this idea online and fell in love so tomorrow each kid in my class is going home with a class picture reminding parents that it’s Know Your School Night at our school. I know that finding childcare and making time to get into the building at night can be tricky for parents but I’m hoping that this little picture reminder will help boost attendance. #teachersofinstagram#parentsnight#schoolhomeconnection#parentinvolvement
