#paragabeach#mykonos#greece#vamosaonde
„I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden In the shade“
Ringo Starr - The Beatles
A common octopus (Octopus vulgaris), filmed near Paraga beach, Mykonos, Greece. Octopuses are amazing animals. They have three hearts, a brain-system which runs nearly trough the whole body and make them as intelligent as dogs or rats, they have similar eyes with lenses like we have, but he can also see dark/light changes with their skin. The skin of the octopuses is fascinating too. As you can see in the beginning of the movie, they can change colours and they can change the skin texture from smooth to frayed, so they can camouflage them perfectly, or, if the colour change to blue, show you that you are not welcomed in their garden...

This is what the water in Mykonos looks like without a filter. 💙 •
My ferry arrived on Mykonos at 10 am. Walking down the dusty, Mediterranean shrub lined road to my hostel, I heard a pulsing beat echoing through the air the closer I got down to the beach. Wide eyed, I wondered if that was my hostel playing that music and if I accidentally signed up to sleep in a club for my 3 days on Mykonos. Nope, wasn't my hostel, it was the night club on the beach right next to the hostel, with music still playing at 10 am, lights still strobing, and an eclectic mix of party goers still dancing from the night before. After gazing at the club for a bit, my eyes wandered back to my hostel where the clear blue infinity pool backed up to the glittering turquoise ocean and the pool side bar was already 2 rows deep of travelers and rounds were being poured. I scratched my head and smirked a bit, oh Mykonos. This is what people come to you for. And while the dancing and reveling and making of new friends and memories is something I'll cherish from that island, this quiet moment of peace on my paddleboard before the reveleries of the day ensued is something I'll cherish even more.
