“At each corner of the boxes stood statues of women looking inwards, sculpted by Ulric Ellerhusen. They were meant to represent the melancholy of life without art.” // This place was spectacular and the sculptures were so lifelike. #35mm#ektar100
That time the OC girls drove all the way to the Bay for my birthday. It’s never about the gifts. It’s always the effort that gets me. 😍 Shot from my favorite place in SF. (Fun Fact : whenever I and these ladies go out together, we always get asked for our IDs and some people even think the birth dates are fake. LOL TOLD YOU GUYS. It’s the rice! #asiangenesftw ) .
The thing I missed the most about living in the bay was being able to take a quick day trip to the city. It’s been 2 months since I’ve been home and we finally went and were tourists for the day 😊
There were no crowds, no waits, and no flocks of people taking photos (even at the touristy spots!). My favorite kind of day 😌
After the Golden Gate Bridge, I decided to get lost a bit again, so, prompted by the freeway sign, I took the exit leading to the marina instead of the way I came. That’s when I came across this magnificent structure, and suddenly felt that I was in Naboo. I parked, skipped along merrily through the grass, and started snapping pictures as the sky grew darker and the lights came to life.
My climbing instinct was going crazy with this one. I could’ve climbed 20 feet in as many seconds...and was sorely tempted to do so. But it seemed to me that something so beautiful might very well be a temple, or sacred in some way.
So I refrained, and decided instead to find out where I was.
The Palace of Fine Arts. I’m sure it is on many tour stops and “To do in San Francisco” lists...but to me it was a lovely and unexpected gem unearthed in my wanderings.
I know what you must probably think. To many a mall is not a place to wind down, yet I find that the nine stories containing over one hundred and seventy shops has a spot to cater to every person. In September, Into the Clouds was on display in the beautiful dome covered artium, an art installation by @friendswithyou 🌥 Amongst the hustle and bustle of the financial district going to the Westfield mall is a retreat away from the city for me. I find that sitting at any of the free spaces adds a coffee shop feel. A pen along with a journal and I'm set. ✍🏽
