📣 **SPOT THE DIFFERENCE ** 🧠💊💉📚 “Remember trying to spot the subtle differences between pictures as a child? It kept us quiet for hours! Neuroscientists including Chrystalina Antoniades have been working with staff at Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum on some interesting ‘spot the difference’ experiments, to try and find out more about how we perceive things. In particular, they’ve been looking at whether our perception operates differently when we are looking at a screen, from when we are looking at actual objects in our environment. It turns out that in this experiment, the phenomenon of ‘change blindness’ - essentially when we can’t spot the difference - occurs both when looking at images on screen and at objects in the real world. Change blindness occurs when a small change in what we are looking at (e.g. in a film of a Chinese porcelain bowl) is obscured by us blinking, or the screen flickering, for example. This sort of inability to ‘spot the difference’ is interesting, because it’s not about lack of attention, given that the people in the experiment were actively engaged in looking at the objects very carefully.” Read the full article at:
I’m absolutely loving the Echinacea flowers right now - though this morning’s rain is quite a dampener! I’m such a sucker for a daisy and these flowers seem like a happy face to me! This is the lovely Echinacea purpurea ‘Magnus’ looking splendid yesterday afternoon in the Shillingford garden we planted this spring. (See my story for pics of the planting). Very easy to grow in sunny, well drained conditions and not fussy about soil type it is an absolute must for prairie style, naturalistic planting and looks wonderful with grasses such as Miscanthus malepartus. Associate with lovely Verbena bonariensis and thalictrum delayvii and underplant with geranium ‘Roxanne’ for a lively and long lasting late summer/autumn display. Keep deadheading and then let the gorgeous seedheads stand through winter. What’s your favourite plant at this time of the year?

I woke up this morning after some pretty bright and vivid dreams and felt completely pulled to revisit these beautiful Work about Light Oracle Cards that @rebeccathoughts created 💓
What a gorgeous morning it's been, and it's only 8.30am! Each card brought with it a clear message, a gift and an inquiry that spoke RIGHT TO MY SOUL 💓
By the time I got to my 11th and final card of the reading I swear I KNEW what was coming. I turned over this card and laughed. THE GREAT GATHERING.. It told me... 'Its time to call in your tribe by sharing your soul's voice and letting yourself be seen' ...💓
This week I have connected with so many amazing ppl, here on IG, in my classes, it's been truly awesome. So, ok universe, I'm listening.... I'm gonna hold that close to my heart as I move forward. GATHERING in those that hear the call, SHARING those gifts that I can and equally learning a bloody ton from others 💓
Wishing everyone a LIGHT and BRIGHT Thursday morning 💓
