In February I participated in an online challenge led by artist Leslie Saeta called 30 Paintings in 30 Days. It’s informal, but you register and every day you post your painting from the day on her blog. It was really fun and it really kick started my creativity and most importantly for me...my PRODUCTIVITY. (The procrastination game is strong with this one.😁) My theme in February was birds and 50% of the proceeds went to support the amazing conservation and education work of @sewardparkaudubon . I was able to raise over $2,000 and people really seemed to connect with the project so this September I’m doing it again! The theme this time will be Animal Ambassadors and the proceeds will be split between a few organizations- I’m still working out the details.
Since the challenge is informal, there are no official rules except that paintings have to be new (or it misses the point, right?) One thing that’s allowed is starting early to prep, so I have already started doing so. With school starting next month I will need the head start if I’m going to even come close to keeping within the 30 days. (February ‘s challenge went more towards 60 days...but who’s counting.😁) I don’t want to ruin the surprise for Sept 1st (or August 31st for my email list) by posting a lot of work in progress on social media, BUT I will be posting my prep process on Patreon, so that when September 1st rolls around I will have a bunch of social media posts ready to go. In case you want to see the behind the scenes progress (and get super early access to paintings!) - you can join me as a patron for as little as $1 a month. There will be timelapse videos and pics of finished works, so patrons of any level get first access to all of that!
It would be fun to see you over there but if not all will be revealed starting August 31st/Sept 1st! ❤️
Here’s the start of the first painting and the last I’ll show on FB or Instagram until Sept 1st- a python ambassador named Pugsley who lives at @wildwonderssd . ❤️
At the moment I feel like I have nature deficit disorder. It's been an age since I've gone on a walk, stood in a wood or peeked through binoculars trying to catch a glimpse of some tiny bird in a tree. It's been an unusually busy summer and I'm now feeling desperate for a green escape... fingers crossed I'll find it soon 🤞🌱🍃🌳🐾
Nothing makes me more happy than seeing this lil guy in his element. He loves exploring, protecting his mama, and soaking in the mountain air and activities. And I’m so grateful to have the kind of freedom that allows me to give him this whenever I want 🐾🌲I love my pup 🐕

It been a long trial and the rain and mud of New England was getting me down hard. My body feels stronger then ever but my mind has never been more tired. I’m getting close to the last 500 miles and I know they will test me in ways I can’t imagine but I’ve made it this far and I’m not quitting till I see that Katahdin sigh.
Sometimes you’ve just gotta do some serious introspection and remind yourself of why you’re here. I choose to build mountains out of my goals so that I can enjoy the climb on the way up & soak in the insight on the way down ❤️⛰ mountains can be physical or mental - both are fully worthy of my time & both give me the exhilarating feeling I deeply crave. #choosemountains#reachyourgoals#catchmeoutside
