He washed the dolls’ and teddies’ clothes and put them on his little washing line 💚
Then everything else in the vicinity got a good washing. Give them a bowl of water and they’ll sit there for hours. Throw in some pegs (all children love pegs!) and it’s even more fun.
Loving these garden days 💚
Our version of flower arranging at home with a toddler.
Walking, discovering, discussing and foraging for leaves and flowers within nature.
Checking to ensure there are no living creatures on them before cutting them.
Finding a caterpillar on a log and deciding it was our new friend to live with us.
Pouring water into the selected vases often missing the vases, and becoming more interested in the pouring than the task at hand (typical Montessori toddler😉)
Just like flower arranging in the prepared environment the direct and indirect aims are still being achieved:
Coordination and refinement of movement.
Development of an aesthetic sense.
Care for the environment.
It was time consuming, messy and completely unstructured but this will now be our new weekly to do job along with disposing of the flowers once wilted and cleaning the vases. The opportunities for follow on exercises are endlesss.
With spring just around the corner it will be lovely to see the seasonal changes and be able to enjoy them throughout our day.
A Home with its outdoor environments made for entertaining....
From a swim in the pool, to roasting smore’s at the adjacent sunken firepit what more can be enjoyable throughout the summer. Perhaps a gazing at the stars in the lookout tower….
Each time we visit this property for our continued home mgmt services it brings great pleasure to know we built and maintain this special property for wonderful clients!
A centre with a view.
Check out the new rooftop garden at our St Kilda Road Centre!
From the start, the centre's children had a say about the features of the space. Assistant Centre Manager Aymie McArdle says, "When we received the written plans the children expressed their ideas through different types of media and materials. Many of them wanted a swimming pool!" Some of the key features include the ever popular sandpit, a water play area with water pump that has water flowing under a wooden bridge and an open seating area where children can enjoy meals together.
