I never really posted what all was involved in getting the JDM door panels to work in my USDM car. Since the driver's side switches were now on the passenger side, I had to swap them around somehow.
I started by drilling the plastic welds out on the back side, then popped the whole assembly out where the handle is. Then after fitting it onto the other door, I used a soldering iron I didn't care about and some zip ties (to account for any missing material drilled out) to melt the two pieces together. The "welds" aren't pretty but they've held up just fine.
You'd never be able to tell I did any of this, and that's exactly what I wanted.
