#12DaysofChristmas This April, we hosted our first English Language Week at Shpola Orphanage! American and Ukrainian volunteers teamed up to teach English in the orphanage school, lead after-school clubs, and spend time loving the children! We are thankful for this opportunity to partner with Shpola Internat and enrich the students’ education. ✏️📚
"I am 94, one of the few Second World War veterans in Russia. I was only 9 when the war started. Too young to fight, so I had to help the Partisans, preparing food and cleaning their clothes. Unfortunately, no one of my family returned from the war. I became an orphan myself but there were no orphanages back then… I was sent back to my village - one of only a few who returned. There were mostly elderly, children, and very few women. We had nothing. I was alone, hungry and very sad. The whole village was destroyed and burnt to the ground - including our house. The only solace was the rare time we had food in our mouths. We slept in holes in the ground or in hay bales while we worked on the rebuilding. From sunrise to sunset we toiled - those too elderly to help gave advice to the young on how to build a house. From the age of 13, I was cutting down trees in the forest to build my own house. I think the reason I have survived so long was that I always paid attention to what I ate. I'd search for apples and berries and mushrooms in the forest - catch fish in the rivers - all hearty, fresh food. Everything was cleaner back then but most importantly, there was no alcohol. I think it should still be banned - it destroyed more Russian people than the war itself. Anyway, my life was hard, I lost many, but looking back I had great times as well, and I am grateful for those memories. This is why my mission now is to help out around here in the orphanage and look after the children as much as I can.”

When pastor Danish PeterDanish took me to this gypsy camp, my heart broke 💔💔, the conditions are beyond horrible, the people work hard for about $2 a day. I knew right away that BFM was to partner with Pastor Peter and support this village, they need a new pump for clean water @ $500, I told Peter to pray that our partnership base will rise so we can commit monthly to these beautiful gypsy people. Would you please consider partnering with us so we can support these beautiful gypsy people?

According to recent statistics, there are about 500,000 widows in Cameroon. Even though changes have been made to the Statute Book which protect widows from deprivation of their rights, the government has done little to monitor, implement, and reinforce these laws. In the Northwest and Southwest regions in particular, customs, traditions, and tribal practices take precedence over modern legislation. Cameroonian traditions are deeply rooted in patriarchal social order, in which men hold more power than women. Widows are regarded as husbands’ property and, as such, are subject to discrimination, marginalisation, shaming, and are denied their fundamental human rights. Widows are often not allowed to leave the house, work, or inherit their husbands’ property, and without marriage certificates in place, legal repercussion is virtually non-existent.
CAEPA Cameroon offers a safe haven for widows to come together and receive judgement-free support, and obtain vocational training in agriculture, farming, running a small business, and other areas which will enable them to become productive and dependent members of their communities. Recently, CAEPA Cameroon was awarded a grant by the US Embassy in Yaounde; the funds will be used to continue promoting the rule of law, ensuring respect of social justice and equal opportunities, and raising awareness of widows’ rights, particularly in the Bali Chamba communities of Cameroon’s Northwest (pictured here).
Please help CAEPA Cameroon by following us on Facebook and Instagram and helping us share our story. ✨
This year-end, we are focusing on providing an education for the all the children in our Indian and Kenyan homes. The average cost of sending a child to school is $570. This costs covers things such as school fees, uniforms, books, and transportation. Education is so important, especially to the orphan. As the year comes to an end, would you consider joining us to provide an orphan with an education?⠀

Many have called you unspeakable names. Many have mistreated you. Many have called you the least/minority. Many have forgotten you. You’ve endured pain and betrayal from those you’ve welcomed. People you’ve extended your hand to have hurt you. Those persecuted for fighting against injustice. Those hurt by the same church that He himself placed to be the light of the world. Many have neglected you when you were in need. And when you tried to rise up, systems were put in place so that you would fail. Instead of loving you, you were hated. However, TODAY...I prophesy over you right now that you will rise up and receive all that our Creator has made for you!
This land cries out to The LORD detesting the atrocities that you have suffered. The blood that has been spilled out of hate and violence.
Therefore, I use this platform to call out to the warriors of faith to join me in prayer over you!
You are not lazy but full of energy! You are not ugly but beautiful! Your skin and hair are not anomalies but a source of your strength. Your gender doesn’t make you weak nor does it disqualify you but makes you ready for the road ahead. You are not hated but LOVED!! Hear me! You are not hated but LOVED!!! Regardless of who you decide to love at this moment does not stop God from LOVING you! Please hear me the Almighty God is not intimated by who you love!! You, yes you who is currently thinking that this doesn’t apply to you because what you did yesterday! God has not stopped LOVING YOU! His LOVE is not dependent upon your behavior. It never was.
I rebuke low self esteem right now in Jesus name! May you rise with confidence and take your place in this land.
You are called! Step into your purpose!
And the Maker of the Universe is sorry that you’ve had to endure so much pain. Every tear He has bottled up and He feels them.
He will restore your land! He will restore your spirit! He will restore your name! He will restore your generation! He will give you beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning.
We remember you now and call you Blessed.
We love you ❤️ “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wi
I met these girls on a trip to Uganda in 2010. I was interviewing men and women who’d be abducted and released by the LRA. This photo and the people and community in it has stayed with me. .
One of the things I feel most happy about our charity, #villageofforgiveness , is the opportunity to go back to the places that have touched my heart and hopefully, even in a very small way, offer support. ..

You won't see many presents under my tree this year and this is why..... 🎄
Every year we do a $50 Secret Santa with my immediate family. This year however, we are donating that money to @blessedchildrenshopefoundation. Even my neice and nephew who are not in secret santa have forgone a present from me to instead donate to BCHF. 💜💜 We really don't need anything but the kids need so much.
So if you feel you'd like to do the same, let me know xx
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.." A cat was reported this morning who had fallen from the 2nd floor of a building and couldn't get up after that. The location was Moodbidre, 45kms from Mangalore.
The incident had happened 3 days back and after calling everyone around, the reporters helplessly sought help from Mangalore. I immediately agreed to do whatever best I could. Requested them to drop atleast half way but they couldn't.
Rushed to Moodbidre immediately to find this sweet lil boy lying in a corner helplessly. His entire body was soaked in his own pee and was reeking with horrible smell. None knew what to do so they had just left him in a corner where his paralysed body was lying half dead.
Immediately packed him warm in clothes, put him in my basket and headed to Mangalore. Reached @animalcaretrust shelter and upon examination by Dr.Yashaswi it was termed to be a head injury.
Immediate treatment was started and fluids were administered. Gave him a sponge bath, dried him and is currently resting. It was indeed heartbreaking to see him get up in-between each time trying to respond to touch and love, really heartbreaking. Really hoping he makes through..!! #rescues#rescued#cats#cat#catsofinsta#catsofinstagram#rescuecats#rescuedcats#rescuecat#straycat#orphans#animals#catlove#animalrescue#animalrescuer#streetrescues#HART#ACT#everylifematters#mangalore#mangalorean#mangaluru#mangaloredays#mangalorediaries#savinglives#savingliveseveryday#savinglivesonedayatatime

It is very sad and painful to see children die, killed or left alone. Every day around the world there is a child aiding for help. The number of orphans in Nigeria is estimated at 17.5 million. Sometimes it is very difficult to understand why this happens & hurts so much to see some of these cases, but God knows best. There is a purpose for these orphans being on this earth and we should help them in any way we can . Food, clothing, books, toiletries can be provided for these children with our help. They might not know who their parents are, but they need to have hope and live a good life. They would grow in faith and also learn about the world. Who knows the future? These children could become the pride and joy of our beloved country so let us join hands and help put a smile on their faces. Life is precious and we will surely find peace doing these good deeds.

➳ Today was a LONG day, but a good day. We had to drive a couple hours to meet with our social worker today for our 12 month post placement visit.
➳ After the visit we decided to visit San Francisco, specifically Chinatown. We all have our favorite spots there.
➳ Genevieve loves to grab some dragon beard candy! Mom loves a stop in The Wok Shop.
➳ We picked up a few stocking stuffers and a Chinese lantern ornament for our tree.
➳ While eating a late lunch at a favorite hole in the wall dim sum restaurant Ryker told us it was his "happy place." It's so important to us to embrace his culture, to keep it a part of his life. It was also good to see him enjoying it. We were here earlier in the year and the visit seemed to be a trauma trigger. He's come so far in a year!
➳ Now for the long drive home. We're tired, but hearts are full.
