Origin of Trails - my goal was simply to survive my very first stage race 🚲 2 days in a row with 60km and 1800hm didn’t sound like my type of riding when we signed up for it 😅 more than stoked that I even managed to end up in place 12 of 61 women and made it overall into spot 200 of 504 🤘 moreover I had a blast on the trails, passing guys on the inside lines and jumps (somehow not all of them were very happy about that 😁) thanks to everybody involved to make this weekend an absolute highlight 🙌
Thanks @frankiedutoit & @bmt_bikeshop to get me rolling on this @trekbikesza Fuel Ex 8, what a fun rig!
After a good weekend of MTB achievements at #originoftrails this weekend, I treated myself to a pedicure at @sorbetcavendish ... as my feet have worked very hard for me lately...
A little bit of spontaneous retail therapy @countryroad was fabulous.... A feel-good day & a dose of feeling proud of yourself is always a good thing!
#feelgood#loveyourself#mondayfeels#lovemybike but #restdays are important too!
nice food @ridein to clear up the anger of day 2 of #originoftrails I felt really good and had great legs!! 6th until 10km to go then a course sign and the motorbike leaded all the front runners wrong... lost 5 ranks. Then a 6cm nail punctured me. Lost again 5 ranks... Anyway, the course was super nice!
Not the best part of Silvio's performance at #originoftrails "Today I felt really good and had great legs!! 6th until 10km to go then a course sign and the motorbike leaded all the front runners wrong... lost 5 ranks. Then a 6cm nail punctured me. Lost again 5 ranks... But the course was super nice"
Origin of Trails day 2 was filled with amazing singletrack and cool little add-ons.
We need to give more credit to our local trail builders that put in some serious shovel work to provide an amazing playground on our doorstep!
This weekend was filled with great trails, bumping into familiar faces, making new friends, tasting wine, eating ice cream, catching crappy tans, loads of photos and rocking some big mental accomplishments.
Weekend well used 😁👊🏻
Superbar’s own Nina Smeda rocking the podium this weekend at the Origin of Trails! Finishing the 2 day MTB stage race in an overall time of 3:42:56, Nina achieved an impressive 2nd place, pictured here with the ladies winner, Lenetia Mundie. Whoop whoop - Well done!

That's a wrap of the 2018 Origin of Trails. Today was slightly shorter, less climbing and some lower temperatures. We did some flying on the Banhoek trails which naturally included Skyfall 🤘
Big ups to Stillwater Sports for organizing such a rad event 👍
Shot for keeping the vibe going @raasbekkiersa - keep up the good work.
What a strong ride from this boy. Started in 100th place and made up 88 places on day one to finish 22nd. Then finished 8th overall on day two of #originoftrails . So so proud. And still promoting the #enjoycycling kit.
How often do you have the one.... the perfect ride? When everything is just amazing.... nothing, not one thing you would change? Your bike is exactly the way you want and perfectly dialed in. The climbs a challenge but rewarded by the downhill and the company along your way makes you feel good and laugh all the way! Today was this day and tomorrow we have one more stage left of the @stillwater_sports #originoftrails . @taylorchick @bobby_behan #everyonearoundme#SWepicevo#custombuild @iamspecialized_mtb @magura_official @foxmtb @rotorbike @renthal_cycling #lovemtb#strengthforjared
Day 1 of Origin of the Trails done and dusted - and it was dusty!
Good fun out on the trails today. Plenty of singletrack, climbs and views.
First time doing a stage race event, first time riding the infamous G-Spot and first time riding over a floating bridge. Admittedly was a little disappointed to not have fallen in 😋
Let's see how the legs hold up tomorrow... #originoftrails#mtb#stagerace#fun#climb#floatingbridge#lekr
