So I tried the oriental flavor today. Added all the seasoning packets and noticed an extra one with chili flakes and whatnot.
Instuctions say nothing about it so I toss it in.
I like spice but this is to much. There isnt any flavor but spice. I can handle the spice but it overwhelms the taste and it just makes me... ]: ....
So if you make this one just do like half spice so you can taste your soup. Or add it all if you just wanna eat flame needles disguised as soup.
If I find this one again I'll redo the review according to using half the spice. ---End note---
I was also asked where I got/get my soups.
I either hit up my local asian market or the Uwajimaya in Portland or Seattle.
In the case of this review and some others my mom was nice enough to buy me some when she went on her trip last month.
Until I'm out of what she bought this note will be present.
Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup in Oriental Flavor with pickled radishes.
Maruchan is a tasty set of instant noodles available in most supermarkets in New York making it easily accessible. It is very cheap. Key Food has them on 3 for $1 most of the time. In my experience. Of buying supermarket noodles in Mumbai and London noodles that are easily available don't taste as good, as the exotic, hard to find and expensive noodles. The noodle texture is also often more on a mushy side and the seasoning is often bland. This is where Maruchan surprised me.
The noodles have a firm bite and the flavor is subtle. The broth doesn't taste bland. Oriental Flavor noodles was heavy on soy sauce taste. A little salty for my taste but the acidity from pickled radishes complimented the saltiness well.
Product of USA
Today was a good day. Finished an art project with my son, met a few friends over lunch and ate two great salads that couldn't be more different. The SomTam (with a twist of avocado, rocket & toasted coconut) salad at @_botai was delightful, just like the rest of their food. The salad I tossed for dinner was less fancy and made in just 15 minutes, but packed in quite a punch! Glass noodles and purple cabbage left over from yesterday's stir-fry, cherry tomatoes, onions, mint and peanuts tossed together in a dressing of minced ginger, chilli & garlic, soy & sweet chilly sauce and the tart liquid of pickled jalapenos (no lemons at home!), this salad was crunchy, tangy, sweet, spicy and guilt-free. Just look at the colours on that plate❤️ #salad#orientalflavor#freshanddelicious#healthyeating#quickrecipes#guiltfree#crunchytartspicy#foodporn#foodiesofinstagram#instafoodie
