Still got it! A cheeky #TikiCocktail is perfect for tonight.
This 1 I developed when I used to work at the Asylum Bar for a drink special. Made a few bartenders from other bars stop by for 2 or 3 of em... forgot what I named it though... It's made with homemade #Orgeat#OrgeatSyrup (cuz amaretto is a gross substitute for Tiki Cocktails mmm K aaaand organic almonds were on sale)
The "Brand New" really might be the perfect summer sipper. Vodka, fresh squeezed pink grapefruit, bright lemon, and housemade orgeat (almond syrup), topped with a splash of soda and a sprig of mint. Also available without the vodka as a refreshing mocktail!
Bright and bitter in all the right places 🌺 photo and recipe compliments of our pal @bitterbotwin 📸

Thanks to the kind people @sukkahhillspirits for generously furnishing me with their delicious Besamim Aromatic Spice Liqueur, I definitely love it! As a way to say thank you, I made, and am sharing an @terronez.speakeasy original recipe created using the liqueur.
Princess of Persia:
1.5 oz @sukkahhillspirits Besamim Aromatic Spice Liqueur
0.5 oz @luxardoofficial Maraschino Liqueur
0.25 oz orgeat syrup (homemade riff on the @deathandcompany recipe)
0.25 oz rose syrup (homemade dilution of middle eastern rose petal syrup)
1 oz fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz fresh egg white (from the coop @farrandzoo)
Dry shake, add ice, hard shake, & strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a Les Parisiennes Kirsch brandied cherry on a pick.
I wish we’d had more time to spend at Hojoko, the Japanese/Tiki mashup around the corner from Fenway. This is their Saturn, made with Citadelle Gin, lemon juice, passion fruit, falernum, and an almond sesame orgeat. #summervacation
The Japanese Cocktail
“It’s a brandy old-fashioned of sorts,” says Damon Boelte of one of the first cocktails in the 1862 edition of Jerry Thomas’s How to Mix Drinks to be listed by name rather than by ingredients. Though the drink dates from the1860 Japanese diplomatic mission to the United States and is thought to have been inspired by the representatives who lived near and drank at Thomas’s bar in downtown Manhattan, there is nothing even remotely Japanese about the ingredients. The moniker, however, presages the ebb and flow of America’s fascination with Japanese culture in subsequent years.
2 1/2 oz. Louis Royer Cognac
1/2 oz. Orgeat
3 Dashes of bitters
Serve up with a twist of orange.
A riff on a riff. Mezcal, @pierreferrandpf cognac, @wilksandwilson orgeat and lemon juice garnished with mint and @luxardoofficial cherry. Trying to experiment a little more and combining orgeat with mezcal was at the top of my list. To be honest, it turned out better than I thought it would.
No name yet. Any suggestions?
Now sipping on a #maitai . #mondayfunday continues!
0.5 oz homemade #orgeat
0.25 oz rich simple syrup (I used demerara sugar in mine)
0.75 oz fresh lime juice
0.5 oz @cointreau_us
1 oz Smith and Cross Navy Strength Jamaican Rum
1 oz @ronmatusalem Gran Reserva 15 Year Rum
Shake with ice, then strain into a double rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of mint (clap it first to get the oils out - makes a huge difference). #cheers#tiki#rum#cocktails#mixology#homebar
Let’s talk about the drink! As you all know the concept for my entry was to generate conversation and action around sustainability through soap/shower thoughts. The question is how does my drink translate into this concept?
My goal was to prepare and present a simple drink, something that doesn’t distract from the idea but also enjoyable and desirable. I initially toyed with a few ideas but ultimately I came to realise, just like Old Fashioneds, keeping it simple was key. People will quietly sip away on an Old Fashioned leaving space and opportunity for meaningful conversation, making it the perfect drink to explore and relay FAIR. ethos and #sustainability .
