Today I had a goal. Do my foils flat and No Folding! It is hard to change a habit. 🤔Am I going to go slower? 🤔Is it really that much better for my clients hair? 🤯I'm already doing so many things at once, and now I'm adding a new technique! 😁Well...all foils today I did not fold and all went well. The ends of the hair felt really nice, and it lifted evenly. I made sure to utilize the Trinity Tonic during the whole process, and using pure blonde along with Surface ECAs her hair's structure couldn't have lightened any safer.
We are currently growing her sides down and making her ends thicker with Awaken Mist Leave-In Conditioner and regular trims. 💪
What a fun mini-makeover today!

Last week this lovely lady came in for a strand test because she wanted to go lighter. The result of the strand text told us she could get pretty light in the first go. There was no breakage and it looked as though she could get to a safe level 7-8 roots to mid-shaft and a solid 9 at the ends. As a colorist of 17 years, my first priority is preserving the health of the hair. That being said, this was our journey:
•Full highlight with 10 volume @love_kevin_murphy lightener and @bes_italy Chainplex
•Between foils roots to mid-shaft 8.1, 8.2, 7.0 and Blue pigment with 30 volume •Between foils, mid-shaft to ends @bes_italy oil lightener and green movie color with 30 vol. •After rinsing the original plan was to evaluate the color and reapply lightener to to the darker band around the mid-shaft. However, sometimes strand tests lie. I made the executive decision to forgo any more lightener and start the toning and conditioning process.
•After drying slightly, we applied @love_kevin_murphy 8.1, 8.2, 7.0 and 3.5 vol. to the roots and 9.1, 10, and a pinch of 8.2 with 3.5 vol. to the ends. Processed for 35 min.
•Finished up the conditioning process with @love_kevin_murphy Restore and @bes_italy Chainplex
• Power toned the remaining yellow in the band with 1/2 Violet and 1/2 Beige @pravana express tone for 3 min and called it good!
The result is a beige light brown / dark blonde that remained healthy with room to continue the lightening process in a few weeks with the correct at home care, or simply maintaining by lightening her roots to a beige light brown and keeping the ends toned and conditioned.
Raw Cacao contains two important nutrients that are beneficial for the hair, they are; sulfur and protein. Once again, adding raw cacao into your diet as well as in your hair regimen, aids in helping hair grow healthy and strong, preventing breakage, which aids in length retention.
