Did I ever tell you guys the story of how we came to live in Colorado?
I grew up in Florida and my family came to Colorado a few times on vacation. There was one trip, though, that changed my world.
It was the summer between high school and college and we took a trip to the mountains. My parents and I spent a week in Breckenridge hiking with our dogs and just soaking up the vibes. I came home obsessed with the idea of moving there. -
I went to college and law school in Kansas while still not so secretly wanting to move to the mountains. My last year of law school I landed my dream internship in Kansas City which I was sure would land me my dream job, the one that I had gone to law school specifically to do. Two days before I graduated I found out that due to budget cuts the job wasn't going to happen, at least not immediately.
I was upset for a few minutes and then looked at my then-fiance and said "What if we moved to the mountains?". Honestly, at that point it was the only thing that made not getting that job feel ok. It was the thing that made it feel like we were making lemonade out of lemons.
Less than two weeks later we had found an apartment, I was enrolled in bar review classes in Boulder, and our new life had begun. I literally cried the first time we saw those mountains on the drive in and I realized that this time it wasn't just a vacation.
For a long time I was afraid that it would somehow be taken away, that we'd have to move back, that this all was a dream.
That was eleven years ago. 😳
I still wake up every damn morning and see the mountains on the horizon and pinch myself that this is my life. I work with a LOT of couples who are planning destination elopements and weddings here and every time I get to show them around my favorite secret spots I'm reminded of what it felt like to see them fr the first time and just how damn magical this place is. And I hope they leave feeling a little bit of what I feel every time I’m up in these places. ❤️
Just posted in my story about Yelp hiding s e v e n t e e n (17) awesome reviews! Like wtf 😡 So, if you’ve left me a review on Yelp, would you pretty please copy and paste it into Google when you get a chance?! I pasted the link into my bio to make it easy!! I’d really appreciate it and make sure I reach out to you to tell you thank you, personally 🙏🏻❤️
On a positive note, starting tomorrow, I’ll be sharing my personal experience in the wedding industry! I’ll share one thing for photographers and one thing for couples who are planning their wedding 🙌🏼 I feel like I want to offer more than just my personal life on here lol. Gotta create value, right?? I’ll probably create a highlight dedicated to couples, as well as for photographers. 🤗 Check back tomorrow around this time for my first bit of advice, insight or just general experience 🙌🏼
Lastly, how cute is this shot of their grand entrance?? 😍 —
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted on my feed. Honestly it felt kind of good to not focus on posting daily. I gave myself a full week off after my surgery to not worry about social media as much (besides posting about my journey on my stories!) but now it’s back to the grind (slowly anyway) I’m still recovering but am able to edit for longer periods at a time every day. Yesterday I made it four hours before I got really tired. Today, I’m hoping to be almost finished with this wedding completely! YAY! The goal is to get this stunning New York wedding and a birth session edited and sent before tomorrow evening. Send me good vibes so I can get it done! Whoooo!
Stay on the lookout👀 we are going to be sharing some of our favorite moments from this island elopement last month tonight in our stories! (We are awful and instagram, we know, we’re trying to be better. Thanks for sticking in there with us👌🏻)
This elopement ceremony was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever shot. There’s something so intimate and special about having your closest family and friends gather around you as you say “I do.” The BEST part about eloping?! You get to pick the location and there’s no limitations as to where you can get married!
If you’re eloping in 2019 or considering it, please PLEASE send me an email! Let’s chat!! I am wanting to meet with more brides that are eloping and having destination weddings this year! We’ll grab a cup of coffee, go over your Pinterest boards (Allll brides have them😉) and we’ll make your vision come to life!
How do you stay entertained / keep your kids entertained in the winter? It’s so easy to get stuck inside all day because of the cold. Any ideas for fun activities despite the weather? (Preferably something a 39 week pregnant lady and toddler can do!)
Remember that one time that @haileyclover and her hubby showed up to their mini session looking like a freaking king and queen, and then the winter sunshine crowned them in a golden glow?
Yeah, me too. ✨
Double tap if you agree that these two look ready for a royal ball!
I’ve been trying find photos of myself to post that aren’t cellphone pictures and the most recent ones are from my wedding 😬 3 years ago...I think it’s time to get in front of the camera for once! 📷: @joshm_martin
Cannot stop gushing over these two!!! These are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, who had so many special touches to their day including her wedding dress that was handmade by her mom??!? Loved this day so much.
IM OBSESSED ✨
I freaking say freaking all the time but it’s because I’m freaking obsessed with IN HOME SESSIONS!
Give me all the couch cuddles and bed kisses! Like seriously, let me be the biggest third wheel ever, I ENJOY IT!
A friend of mine offered in home mini sessions and I thought that was a great idea! COMMENT BELOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE THAT TOO?
In YOUR home / 40 min / 50+ edits / $175 + travel 🙆♀️
Prepping a blog post what!!! Lance and Lauren’s wedding coming soon ✨
AND! Their wonderful venue, @abernethycenter is running a contest right now for engaged couples!! Check their page to share your love story with them and win a free wedding venue!!
Every once in a while, when the air feels crisp, I’m reminded of this chilly day-after session I photographed with beautiful Olivia at Skogafoss in Iceland. I’m getting the itch to go back soooo if anyone’s looking for a cool place to get married....here’s an idea 😉
Making an album for a client, uploading galleries, answering emails, blogging, cleaning, wrapping gifts... all at the same time. Sometimes it feels like there needs to be more hours in the day. Anyone else wish there was 103 hours in a day? // colored version of this pic will be posted in my story later today. But black and white is here because B&W..
An unexpected, storytelling angle on Emily & Cody's grand entrance into their reception. Love the energy of this moment! ✨

When I got engaged I was in shock. I just kept saying “WAIT WHAT?... is this for real?!” ... Over and over again. I was completely surprised and if you know me you know that it is impossible to surprise me so apparently I don’t know how to react to them either 🤷♀️🤣 I don’t even remember saying yes 😂 but I know I did because I was pumped get wifed up by Jake. If you’re married or engaged - what was your engagement like? Gimme the deets!
We’ve got some new faces around these parts and I thought I’d introduce myself! My name is Kennedy Blue and I’ve been doing photography for a year and a half! Here are a few fun facts about me: 1) I’ve been married to my cute husband for 3 and a half years and we have the most beautiful baby girl in the universe 2) Coca-Cola is my jam BUT I’m on the quits because “health” 3) I’m also a bar tender at our family owned establishment and it’s ironic because 4) I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Lol I can’t tell you what would be good, but I can make a yummy cocktail 😉 5) I’M GIVING AWAY 2 MINI SESSIONS! 🤩 be on the lookout for Saturday!! But for now, tell me something about you! •
Just delivered Cara & Ben’s beautiful chilly fall wedding at @zenithvineyard and loved that we got such a sunny gorgeous day out which is typically rare this time of year. They were so enamored with one another, I don’t think they even noticed how brisk it was out. They are so happy to be married and I feel so honored to have photographed this very special day for them.
Cheers 🥂 .

Happy Thursday Friends!
We’ve got some really awesome things happening today that we’ve been brewing up for over a month and a half now. Let’s just say it’s going to be one heck of an epic day so catch us on our stories won’t you? .
I’ll tell you one thing, I’m fortunate to work along such fantastic creatives that make this “job” a blast. Find your tribe and love them hard ❤️
The rain just pored non stop the morning of their shoot. And I do mean pour. Nonstop. The forecast called for it to finally calm down just about the same time that I had asked them to meet me. Over texts I asked them to trust me. And I’m so grateful they did! We had to get out the umbrellas a few times during their shoot but nothing says Oregon engagement like unpredictable weather, or as Lexi and I dubbed it #oregondrama but Oregon’s 😍 locations make it aaaaall worth it wouldn’t you agree?

It was always you. 💖
Cassidy + Travis’ surprise proposal still gives me all the feels when I think about how well it was pulled off! Cassidy and I are swear twins because when Travis proposed she said “Are you sh***ing me?” And when my husband proposed I said “Is this a f***ing joke?” Keeping it real here for you guys. 🙈 .
We had both been with our guys for almost 8 years when they proposed so I think we were both in a bit of shock. Tell me below, what came out of your mouth when you were proposed to? 😂
