We are in the Naples Daily News!
South of Thomasson Drive on Bayshore will be home to a sweet business specializing in popcorn, saltwater taffy, and ice cream.
Best Popcorn Co., targeted to open around the first week in October, will be operated by two brothers – Kevin Kurgis and John Ginter – in a tiny structure they own near Naples Botanical Garden. The freestanding home at 6023 Bayshore Drive previously housed an art gallery.
It’s a new location for an old business. The popcorn has been sold at the Third Street South Farmers Market for 15 years. It’s also available online and at Orchard Supply Hardware stores in Florida.
The trademarked Naples Mix — a combination of caramel corn and white cheddar popcorn — is one of the top local sellers. The business also produces kettle corn as well as popcorn in a variety of flavors such as apple pie, butterscotch, cinnamon bun, orange cream, peppermint, toffee, and vanilla.

I am always amazed by the abundance Paul Gautschi has, not only from his garden, but from his fruit trees! This past weekend when I stayed on his farm he had me take a huge bag of apple home with me, along with some HUGE zucchinis! I still need to get a good pic of the size of those monsters though... Anyways aside from the insane abundance that I love, I also cant ever seem to take my eyes off the cuts on his trees and where they ate located amongst them. As an artist I understand exactly where Paul is coming from when he tells people that pruning is a form of art. He's definitely not joking when he says that because it truly is! I'll be working on getting @anneofalltrades fruit trees all pruned and cleaned up this winter, so I'm excited to be able to keep pruning since I left the hundreds of trees on the farm I worked on in Maryland. Oh and I forgot to mention I'll be going to Paul's on the weekends to help him out a little before his tours (even though there is only a couple left this season as the last one is the last Sunday of September). I'll also be at his pruning demos and I'll let everyone know when those will take place (sometime in or around January). So if you live in Washington or would want to make a trip out of it, you should definitely try and make it out to see his incredible garden and orchard!!
