So today's image is really important to me! I created as I was inspired by @anya_anti_art image, 'Pandora's Box'. I got my amazingly brave and patient model @prattene and attempted the shoot, however it was a disaster! SD cards were almost lost, models burnt and smoked out, and not a single image worth mentioning. I went home really disheartened and thought I would never get the image I wanted. Almost a year later, and after emailing Anya who gave me some awesome advice, I attempted the shoot again. The outcomes were so good! And I loved them all! The lighting was perfect and despite the dismal weather it was all a success. I learnt so much through this experience! I guess what I'm trying to say is don't give up the first time, learn from your mistakes and never be afraid to ask for help! Thank you so much to everyone who encouraged me and helped me to achieve what I wanted!
@liamnashphotography and I testing out a shoot location on Saturday, using @tlsfxpyrotechnics white smoke grenades.
Liam lit by a 47” Octabox, one light either side with coloured gels to colour the smoke and for rim lighting.
👼🏻 Its a buoy! 👼🏻 What's more precious than a new born baby and more fiddly than brain surgery?
A new MOB Buoy!
They always come with the bracket attached, which inevitably ends up needing to be taken off before mounting it, there's always the worry we might drop it over the side, it's mounted on the outside of the bridge wing which is very nearly completely inaccessible, and there's always the risk you'll accidentally set off the 15 minutes worth of orange smoke... Thankfully its now in position, hopefully never to be used! 🤞🏻 #mob#manoverboard#pyrotechnic#mobbuoy#safety#horriblejob#orangesmoke#chiefofficer#lifeatsea#teamdeck#dreamteam#bridgewing
