Eating healthy doesn't have to be intimidating 🙌🎉
A couple tips to make it easier on yourself:
1. Don't make yourself crazy with meal prep. Pick one meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner and start there first. If you can get one meal of the day for each day of the week prepped and ready to go, you'll be much less tempted to hit up the vending machine for lunch at work or pick up dinner from that fast food restaurant
2. Cut up some of your favorite, crunchy veggies and portion them into snack bags at the beginning of the week. When you're craving a snack, its SO easy to just grab that convenient bag of chips over having to take celery and peppers out of the fridge, wash them, then cut them up to eat them. If you prep your snack bags ahead of time, then there are no excuses not to snack healthy 😄
I like to pair my peppers with mini gaucamole cups and my celery with 1tbsp of nut butter!
Have a great week everyone!

The earth calls us to realize what we are doing.
Awareness is key. Silence too. Just to be present with truth.
It’s harder than it looks.
Makes me wonder what my truth is.
Where is my focus.
What do I really want beyond the manufactured wants that are created by a marketing maze.
What is the focus of my breath. The intention of this life.
I like the silence and the cacophony of life around me.
I feel empty. A full empty like there is nothing I need and yet there are needs that must find their steppingstones.
Definition, shape, desire, response. Yes I want to see the beauty around me. Feel spacious and connected. Create, contemplate and connect
to color, nature, sound and people. Greenery and sky. Art. Joy. Laughter. Light.
Lifting the blinds. Releasing the ties.
Here, in this moment.
Finally picked up my colored pencils again after a 4 month hiatus. Sadness and stress sort of zapped my creative spirit there for a while. But I’m back (said Jack Nicholson in The Shining 🤪)! And I did something different this time. Instead of using dark sepia to tone, I used the compliment of each pepper to tone. I always felt I was a little heavy handed with the dark sepia and it made my colors muddier than they should be. I still feel I went a little too heavy with the blue on the orange pepper, but you live and learn, right? Anyway, I’ve posted several photos showing the progression from toning to laying in local color with watercolor pencils to finishing up with layer upon layer of regular colored pencils and final coat of watercolor again to intensify the color. My only question is: Should I add the cast shadow or not? All critiques are welcome. #greenpepper#greenpeppers#purplepeppers#orangepepper#vegetablemarket#coloredpencil#fabercastell#beenawaytoolong#botanicalart#ilovenature#botanical#castshadow#creativespirit#peppers#art
