🦃 Slicin', dicin', stirrin' and mixin'? Me too! Thought I would pass on one of my favorite recipes, homemade cranberry sauce. It's easy peasy, so good and can be made today. Try it, you'll like it! This year I'm adding 3/4 cup of wild blueberries as suggested by @medicalmedium. Gonna try to throw in some "healthy" all up in here!
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
2 cinnamon sticks
Rinse & pick thru cranberries. Throw out soft or mushy cranberries. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the oj, water & cinnamon sticks. Stir in the cranberries & cook (about 10 minutes) until they 🅿🅾🅿! The mixture may foam a bit. Keep stirring & keep the heat at medium & the foam disappears.
Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. The sauce thickens as it cools. Remove cinnamon sticks before serving or leave in for decoration! Store in refrigerator.
Alterations to try:
1. Use 1 cup oj for more tanginess.
2. Eliminate cinnamon stick.
3. Add a splash of Grand Manier.
4. Use water only and add orange zest.
5. Switch out coconut sugar for some of the white sugar.
Let me know if you try making your own cranberry sauce.
I love fermenting things; you know that, right? So what happens when you have a mission to ferment everything to see if it’s possible? You make videos to document it.⠀
Over the past month, I’ve been creating naturally fermented foods/drinks to:⠀
1. Experiment and keep creative juices flowing⠀
2. See if my thesis of #fermenteverything is possible⠀
3. Show you how easy being gut healthy can be⠀
So in this inaugural episode, I ferment fresh squeezed orange juice. Watch the video to see how it turns out (FYI, I’ll try everything I make)⠀
Make sure you double tap to let me know you’d like to see more of them (I’m trying some really CRAZY stuff). Or better yet, comment and let me know something you’d like to see me try to ferment. Tag a fiend who loves to ferment as well.
