Summertime is buckets and buckets of blueberries, going for evening strolls & eating blackberries off the branch, spicy cocktails on the deck at dusk, moments of rolling thunder and daily dips in the lake. ⠀
(And this year, it’s also seeing Hanson in concert, which all you 90s kids/teens know exactly how amazing that is 😂)! #mmmbop
I cook at home almost every single night.
I have never been much for spending money and eating out, but a few years ago, my diet was total garbage. I was working two jobs, was extremely ill from my chronic illness, and just ate whatever was fast, cheap, and would numb me from my sad cycle in life. That usually meant a bag of Cheetos and an entire bottle of gas station wine.
It wasn't until I started turning my life around that I started investing in myself more. I started a new career, got diagnosed, and started taking care of myself more. Now, my FH and I eat dinner together and discuss our day, our goals, and everything else.
Staying in isn't always just about saving money. It can be about taking care of yourself and getting closer with the ones you love, too. I was definitely missing out on that passed out on my couch with a bag of Cheetos on my lap.
Well I did it! I woke up at 4am! I laid in bed for far too long before I finally got moving, BUT I got my workout in before getting ready and it felt great! I’ll be doing it again tomorrow!! Just no coffee afterwards because holy smokes caffeine overload I think!! Def don’t need preworkout and coffee before breakfast lol
Now I’m exhausted and the kids are all in bed, so bed for me before 8pm while it’s light outside still. 😴😴 no shame in my game 💪🏼
Buona notte grifonpotter, posto a questo ora (00:20) perché non so se domani sarei riuscita a postare... Ma cmq nn è in problema perché adesso è domani., anzi no oggi🧐🤯non so se avete capito cmq rispondete... •
Domanda: voi che cuore avete? ~Rose~
welp, hi guys 🔥 it’s been a rough few days so I’ve been pretty absent here aside from stories here & there. ☹️ all we can do is sit and watch now... we’ve been evacuated from our home, as the #silvercreekfire continues to encroach our neighborhood. last update was that the initial ~1,000 acre fire that started July 19 has grown to over 4,100 acres and prompted evacs of hundreds - including us 🏠 we are safe & hopeful that the firefighters and first responders will keep our neighborhood safe, but the wind is NOT in our favor lately, and we haven’t had rain in weeks. 😓 the skies are filled with smoke on & off, and all we can do is pray for rain for the west. THANK YOU to the firefighters for risking everything to keep us safe 👩🏽🚒and to this wonderful community we call home for all the love, encouragement & offers to help anyone who needs a hand. proud to call Grand County home. Pray for rain. 🙏🏼💦♥️
Out in Squamish with @zoe.f_1710 for the Optimist Canadian Championships. The smoke filled skies are clearing up and the wind is cranking... the optis are the little white dots in the distance. #wind#optimist#coda#rhyc @rhyclearntosail
Self care is something we hardly think of...but life can hit you with big changes. We need to remember to take care of ourselves so we can be healthy mentally and emotionally, not just physically.
With a new baby, sleep is now some foreign concept, and you are always tired and can get cranky easy.
The gym is my me time. I listen to my podcasts, work out, and feel good. What makes YOU feel good? Makes sure to give yourself time each day to feel good
Because no matter what others may say, at work or school or play, you DESERVE to be HAPPY.
"People who succeed at the highest level are not lucky; they're doing something differently from everyone else." - Tony Robbins - 💙✨
The only certainty in life, business, marriage, relationship... is that things will continue to change. If you make yourself ready for change (aka growth mindset), you will become better able to make the right decisions when needed.
One of the best things that have ever happened to me was to be kicked out to my home in the middle of the night at 17. To many, it sounds hards... others instantly think: "you must have deserved it"... and to a few, the visual becomes really hard to wrap about their heads! Yet the level of growth, success, tenacity, failures, achievements, empowerment, strength, and learning curve I have experienced in life due to this milestone, has been PRICELESS. --
Be willing to turn your lemons into lululemons guys. Don't allow circumstances to make you bitter & feel sorry for yourself. Keep in mind that your attitude shapes your future. Therefore, determine your destination then find ways to get there⛰. —
At the end of the day, moving on and making the most out of your life is 100% your responsibility! --
Trust me when I say that owning our stories can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it!🙋🏼
I always enjoy coming back to where it all started. Aside from the amazing food, it’s always inspiring to see the immigrants doing whatever it takes to succeed. The restaurants are always open during the holidays. The hours are long. Most speak broken English. Most work at multiple restaurants to make ends meet. They do whatever they have to, and still optimistic about life. 💪🏼👌🏼🙂
Well, New York, it’s time to say bye 👋 ⠀
I’ve enjoyed getting to know the city— and I’ve learned a few things in the past few months in the Big 🍎 :⠀
🏙 None of my shoes were made for the streets of New York⠀
🏙 You sound like an idiot if you hop in a taxi and provide an address instead of a cross-street⠀
🏙 While I always thought I was a city girl… it turns out this girl is all about rural life. Please give me a lake, and a farm, and a bud light, and some country music, stat! 👩🏼🌾 ⠀
Have you learned anything about yourself this summer? ✨
Making yourself and your goals a priority can be a scary thing. For those that don't workout consistently, the idea of exercise and being sore can be terrifying.
Living a life of regret that's unhealthy is scarier.
I started my fitness journey when I was 25. That's 7 years after high school. For 7 years I abused my body. I regret it because I'm still not where I want to be.
There are times I know I should have worked harder and ate cleaner. I'm doing that now.
All I know is that had I started sooner, I wouldn't have lived a life of regret. I wouldn't have hated myself or the way I look. I would have learned to love myself sooner and respected my body, thoughts, and emotions.
So, the moral of the story is this: don't waste time. Your life is precious. You deserve to feel loved and be loved, not just by others, but most importantly, yourself. That's the most important person in your life; you.
If you don't take care of yourself, everything else starts to suffer; your relationships, your parenting, your career. Everything.
Start now. It's not too late. If you don't start now, one day it may be too late.
