On the train to that there London Town but got rained on walking to the 🚉. The ticket inspector on the train went “oooooh fancy London” when he saw my ticket which made me giggle. #onlyinyorkshire#offtolondon#workingit
Thank you so much to the Whitaker family who spent the day showing me around their factory in Skipton, built where the old shed in the back garden used to be! So inspiring to see what multiple generations can achieve in a community and in the industry, working with good products and processes with really effective systems. My head is spinning, not least from the aroma of the enormous slab of hand boiled and tempered fudge I’ve brought back! So honoured to get to see such well developed production systems from liquid chocolate to finished boxes of great made products! Thank you @whitakerschocolates for such lovely hospitality! #adventuresinchocolatemaking#OnlyInYorkshire
This has GOT to be our favourite post from Halloween...😂 It doesn’t get better than a man rowing down the #York river in a giant pumpkin! ⛵️ #giantpumpkin#pumpkinboat#riverouse#halloween#halloweenfunny#onlyinyorkshire#yorkshire *** #Repost @bbc with @get_repost
This isn’t something you see every day - a man in a pumpkin, rowing down a river!
Tom Pearcy, owner of York Maze, was rowing along the River Ouse. Pearcy and his unique craft - weighing 619kg (1364lbs) - travelled between Ouse Bridge and Skeldergate Bridge without sinking! As there is currently no recognised world record for the largest pumpkin boat, York Maze has applied to Guinness World Records to have this achievement acknowledged.
