Where one person sees junk, another sees beauty! 😍
Next time you attend an estate auction, look for items that can be repurposed into home decor items and furniture.
Here's a few ideas for inspiration:
Old stool? Turn it into an end table.
Picture frames? Remove the glass, add cork and make it a family message board.
Dresser drawers? Make it an under the bed storage container.
What's your favourite piece of re-purposed furniture?
"Tea or coffee? The Father of #ContemporaryMexicanSilver helps you serve it up in style!
One of the newer pieces up for auction but no less unique both in its design and its history is a William Spratling (1900-1967) four piece sterling silver tea service comprising a coffee pot, tea pot, hot milk pot and tray.
Spratling was born in New York but is known as the “Father of Contemporary Mexican Silver.” After the revolution, the highly charged political and social environment in Mexico influenced Spratling’s decision in 1931 to reestablish a silver industry in Taxco.
Although Taxco was a traditional site of silver mines, it had no native silver working industry. Spratling began designing works in silver based primarily on pre-Columbian and traditional motifs.
This beautiful set can be yours, bid for it today before lot closes starting at 10am.
Would you buy fruit at an auction? 🍉
This rare black watermelon is a variety from Japan that is only grown on the island of Hokkaido. So rare, that in 2013 it sold at auction for $4,053.
Easily the most expensive melon in the entire world. I wonder what it tasted like.. 🤔
An appraisal determines the value of an object through market analysis. They're often used for insurance purposes and for estates or donations. The most commonly used values are Fair Market Value, which is often used for estates or donations and Replacement Value, which is used for insurance coverage.
An appraisal should not be confused with an estimate of value (in other words an evaluation), which is a range of value based on our expertise.

There are a lot of myths, when it comes to bidding strategies.
Which ones work and which ones don't? It depends on the auction, but, here are a few quick myths - debunked!
MYTH - Hide behind a post, or at the back of the room during the auction.
REALITY-It’s much better to take a position in the middle of the room where everyone can see you.
MYTH - Never make the first bid
REALITY - A lot of people think this, but you might as well bid first. If you’re there, starting the process, then experience shows us you’ll have a better chance of still being there at the end.
MYTH - Come in with a strong bid early, and knock everyone else out of the park
REALITY - A lot of people try this, especially if they know they really want the property and have a good idea of what it’s worth. This can actually be a very effective strategy as it often takes the competition by surprise.
