Just need to add borders to the two #splendidsampler 2016 tops to check off my #onemonthlygoal for July @elmstreetquilts. A few blocks did not make it into the tops, will have to plan another small project for them down the road.
Day 193/365. June 14. It was HOT HOT HOT today. I ventured out in the morning for a big quilters garage sale then spend the afternoon inside the cool house quilting. I’m so happy to have my Pfaff, Pfiona, working again! I finished piecing the top of my #dutchcanuckquilt and pieced together the backing. I may actually have a finish this month! #canadaquilt#onemonthlygoal#project365
"The mountains are calling and I must go." Just finished my addition to the #coasttocoasttravelingbee quilt for @patch_the_giraffe! I'm so pleased with how this turned out! If you've been following along, you may notice that the ladybugs and state are in a different spot. It was a tough choice to unpick and resew, but in the end I think it was worth it. My original addition are the spring, summer, and fall mountains across the top. Thanks for another fabulous year ladies (yes, you too @littlebunnyalison @hotpinkquilts @quiltnparty)!!
Also, this checks my #onemonthlygoal box, too!
The baby James quilt project. A fellow quilter’s grandson died 3 days after he was born last year. On the first anniversary of his birth, his grandma wants to gift a quilt to every baby in the nursery and NICU that cared for him. My #onemonthlygoal for July is to complete and mail three or four quilts for the baby James quilt project. One is already pieced and quilted. One is pieced and sandwiched. Two more are planned but not started.
My July OMG! is to have this mystery quilt top ready for the long-armer. The 60” square centre is all done, as the second photo shows. Already this month I was able to sew the 288 tiny HSTs into pinwheel blocks. Now I just have to spin the seams on these 72 blocks, sew them into 4 rows for a border and then add a few more borders. I am making the extra large queen size so that is a lot of sewing. This was a mystery quilt from @bordercreekstation and I used purchased indigo fabrics. I went to #quiltjunction for this mystery quilt. The instructions were very precise and I learned a lot while doing this quilt. I am sure someone has calculated how many pieces there are here altogether! Maybe I don’t want to know. But my accuracy is much better after all this! @elmstreetquilts #onemonthlygoal
Time to set my #onemonthlygoal for July. I will be spending much of the month as a volunteer at a fire lookout tower away from my sewing projects, but I hope to complete this scrappy challenge project for this fall’s FQG quilt show. #sewyourstash#scrappychallenge scrappyquilt
My sewing has been slow going lately but it's time to rejoin @elmstreetquilts #onemonthlygoal . For the month of July, I'd love to complete my #quietplaypatterns unicorn pillow. The block has been done for months, I just need to put it together for a pillow for my daughter. ❤️💛💚💙💜🦄

June OMG done, just under the wire. I needed to make this Starry Night batik quilt bigger so I added a 10” border of Friendship Stars on all 4 sides. Needed 40 stars with sashes on both sides. The HSTs were easy to cut with my Accuquilt cutter. I was running short on some of the fabrics. My original goal was to have this completely done but I decided to have it longarmed so I have completed my part. #onemonthlygoal @elmstreetquilts
Made my #onemonthlygoal for June! Im done with the quilting on the middle, and just have to finish the dark background! Maybe I'll even finish it next month. =] I also finished a mini quilt, so I'll count this as a productive month.
Impossible to get this all in a shot... My blocks are together. The borders are on❗❗❗💚💚💚 way ahead of time.
Now.... Hopefully I can remember to link it when the time comes😱
Top all pieced, June #onemonthlygoal completed. @elmstreetquilts.Blocks from #aurifildom2016 . Thanks to speedy shipping from @fabric_shack for more of the @alisonglass fabric for the setting triangles. Now to organize the back and mail it off to @primrosecottagequilts for some quilting magic.
Wednesday got away from me, but it’s still Thursday here so I’m catching up on #foqwarmupchallenge with @thefestivalofquilts. The first pic shows one of my WIPs. I’ve thrown down the gauntlet with #onemonthlygoal with @elmstreetquilts that June 2018 is the month I finish quilting and binding this twin sized quilt for my son. He’s been waiting entirely too long for it. And as for Quilt Crush. There are *so many* quilts that inspire me. I chose to share two that I enjoyed watching unfold for the recent #pantonequiltchallenge . Bold colors and fabulous graphic designs! Pic 2: Ramps by @elizabethkray.

June promises to be another crazy month but it started off great with three days of rug hooking at Wooly Woolens! My goal for June is to make significant progress on my Floral No 7 rug started last October. #onemonthlygoal
@elmstreetquilts for my #onemonthlygoal I am going to try this improve strip piecing quilt with these blue solids and a grey background. I still have to pick up the grey solid. I will be happy to get this one cut and laid out on my design board by the end of June.
Pulled summer temperatures from my stash: from hot to hottest left to right carrot, flame, lipstick, cardinal and paprika for 33 Celsius which is the record for the Vancouver area set last year. Hope we won’t need to use it. Colour names from the Kona solids swatch card but I’m using tone on tones from my stash. #tempquilt18#temperaturequilt2018#usewhatyouhave#onemonthlygoal#nofilter
My OMG for June is to finish this! My oldest WIP I think. Part of a BOM and we used Pam Bono stars. Part of my procrastination is we are duvet people. I have never slept under a quilt. I know I want to make both sides 10” longer, to cover the wooden bed. And, how would I quilt it. It is easy enough to make this into a duvet but I am leaning towards a quilt with wool batting. I would quilt it minimally. And I think I can easily add a border of Friendship stars especially using the AccuQuilt GO to cut them out. I have 100ish HSTs done already but may save them for the backing. Decisions then sewing. #onemonthlygoal @elmstreetquilts
My primary goal for the month of June is to get a significant portion of the quilting on my new bed quilt done. My secondary goal is to do at least one fun for-me project, because I anticipate the quilting being a bear. =] #onemonthlygoal
It’s time to declare our #onemonthlygoal for June. I’m going to finally cut into my rolls of #kaffefassettfabric and get started on the #marionlanequilt designed by @victoriafindlaywolfe. I hope to get at least a couple of strips done this month. Check out the #onemonthlygoal hosted by @elmstreetquilts on her blog at www.elmstreetquilts.com. It’s a great way to get motivated to get projects done and you could win some awesome prizes. 👍🏽
