Not gunna lie, I’ve had a harder time feeling good about myself and fitness during this pregnancy. With Rhy, I was recovering from a torn Achilles throughout pregnancy, so I was already a bit incapacitated and accustomed to not being 100%. But with this one, I had gotten stronger than ever and felt really great before getting pregnant. I have a hard time not getting super discouraged about how heavy and slow I feel during workouts. Sure, as a former gymnast, I can still do a lot of things people wish they could do...but it’s hard feeling like I had worked so hard to gain my fitness back, and then it all just went down the tube. Yet, I know I’m growing life, and I’m so grateful for that experience. And I know many women yearn for this. It’s a battle to keep perspective. Our bodies are capable of amazing things. Life is becoming - always changing, always beautiful #24weekspregnant
Some of our adults are starting the process to back handsprings. After you’ve dialed in your bridge mobility, core strength, handstands, and understood basic backbend mechanics, how about a back handspring ?!
The backhand-spring is little more technical to learn for adults compared to the back tuck due to the back bending and bridge mobility required, especially to do a good one, but it’s more than possible if you’ve followed the steps.
Exercises shown in video are a good place to begin back handsprings:
1️⃣Snap Backs - the idea is to create momentum going backwards by learning into the backbend on the timbit.
2️⃣Second is to add the jump after the lean backwards and arch position is understood.
3️⃣Grab a spot, lean back and toss it down a cheese 🧀👍🏻😀
Who wants to learn?? Winter Classes are filling up!!
This Girl! ❤️ Covered in chalk from head to toe, bloody hands and still smiling from ear to ear.
This Girl! Is so special! She continues to work harder than ever, despite an Achilles injury! Having to decline an Elite Camp invitation because of an injury set back. She gets knocked down but gets up every morning and keeps doing what she loves. I don’t know how she does it! ❤️
When your motivation takes a hiatus...just go and play. Do something new. Have fun with movement. Today, I did just that ♥️. Tried working out and it was pretty awful lol so I stopped and decided to do something different.
Feels good to be able to do this again. 🙌🏽#5monthspostpartum .
These leggings release Dec 6th on @ptulaactive anniversary launch! 😍
So last night I took an actual gymnastics class. First time in over 7 plus years. I realized I can’t role anymore. Forward roles and back extension rolls are so hard!!!! I can still flip and handstand but count me out of any type of level 1 gymnastics. Thanks for the invite and let’s do it again next Thursday! Oh and let me tell you my body is feeling it today. #gymnastics#retiredgymnast#gettingold#mybodyhurts#nevergiveup#onceagymnastalwaysagymnast
