When the foot and calf muscles are too tight, movement is restricted and more stress is placed on muscle, fascia and tendons which can contribute to Achilles tendon problems, heel pain and plantar fasciitis, just to name a few annoying foot problems. The result of not enough stretching and poor flexibility... Restricted mobility. Muscles that are too tight may one day "accidentally" get stretched farther than they can comfortably go and - rip, tear, strain and then it’s injury time.
If muscles are weak, especially along the soles of the feet, there is a good chance that as soon as we start to contract a foot muscle it will cramp or lock up in a spasm. Muscle cramps prevent us from wanting to engage our muscles, so we avoid movement with the ankle, foot or toes that might cause the muscles to cramp. The result of never contracting a muscle... It will get weaker and weaker, and will cramp quicker and more severely if you do anything that requires its use!
You can practice pointing and flexing your feet in any position, seated, lying down, both legs at the same time, one leg at a time or with the help of a yoga-strap. There are lots of options for variety and to help challenge and target all the muscles of your feet, ankles, and legs.
Do about 10 rounds of the movements in the vid daily, on your downtime, in your yoga practice or during your exercise cool-down.
What's in breast milk?
What's in breast milk depends on when it's being made and for whom. One of the wonderful characteristics of human milk is the way it changes to meet your baby's needs as he grows. The breast milk a mother produces for her premature baby differs from the milk she would produce for a full-term newborn, and that differs from the milk she'll have for her 6-month-old baby. All breast milk, however, contains exactly the nutritional and protective components needed most by each baby at every age.
Colostrum is the first pale yellow milk your breasts produce after giving birth. (You may have noticed beads of colostrum on your nipples in the last weeks of pregnancy.) It's so high in antibodies that some people call it a baby's first immunization. It's higher in protein, minerals, salt, vitamin A, nitrogen, white blood cells, and certain antibodies, and has less fat and sugar than mature milk. Colostrum also has a slightly laxative effect and helps a newborn rinse his gastrointestinal tract of meconium, the waste product accumulated before birth, thereby reducing the risk of jaundice. A little colostrum goes a long way. You may not feel as if you're producing much, but each drop is packed with nutritional and protective components.
Mature milk comes in approximately two to four days after your baby's born, depending on the frequency of nursing in the first hours and days after birth. and is produced in greater amounts than colostrum. (Moms often produce too much at first, until their baby's appetite and nursing frequency match the amount produced to the amount needed.) Mature milk contains water, fat, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and white cells. Over the course of a feeding, breast milk changes from foremilk, high in water and lactose, to hindmilk, high in fat and calories. (Cont. In Comments)

"This really resonated with me.
Wouldn't it be beneficial if mother's came together openly and honestly supporting and guiding each other through the role of parenting?? I mean seriously, why do we hold ourselves in judgement, comparing what we assume to be the ideal standard, when in fact Jo, Mary and Susan(whoever) haven't truly got their shit together either!!? Why do we even pretend?? Why do we hide??
If you knew how many mother's I've encountered that share the same negative self judgement, you would understand why I'm now releasing this thought.
It's heartbreaking and unnecessary.
Sharing your truth doesn't make you less of a Mother or a woman, when you share with the intention to heal or become more, I say it makes you fucking GREAT!!!
Yes it takes strength and courage to be real honest about your shit, but the same strength you harness everyday to pull through and pretend that all is well; can be redirected to actually make it all well! **If this also resonates with you, please let me know, I'm gonna build a forum for us to share and heal as Mothers. I can no longer sit and witness this in silence."😔💚

“Everyone told me how great I looked. (Did I look so bad before, or now, I wonder?).... If you already have a history of issues with food or disordered eating, orthorexia can easily be masked under the guise of ‘wellness’. You can’t judge a book by its cover.” Extract from my Teacher’s Tales column this month in @omyogamagazine where I talk about diet culture in the yoga world. Read more on pg. 118

The gates just flew wide open. I told you Yoga Journal wasn’t playing around when they made the following fierce, revolutionary statement. ⬇️ And this is just the beginning.
“We believe the future of yoga has to include the expansion of the practice and its benefits into *every* community—doctors’ offices, the military, police stations, prisons, corporate environments, schools and neighborhood youth programs, addiction recovery centers, leadership trainings, and so much more.” @yogajournal.
Pictured: Kristen Noelle @theyogagypsea photographed at Pearl Harbor. Thank you, Kristen. Your practice, your Seva, your commitment to spreading yoga in the military is beautiful. I love that you joined the Air Force because you wanted to bring yoga to the military as directly as possible.
Major thank you to @warriorsatease executive director @susanalden_aloha and U.S. Navy Commander Hillary Darby, for the years of paving the way and then cutting through a fair share of red tape to get this approved by the Department of Defense. And to Yoga Journal for becoming so badass overnight. Proud moment for us all.
So, who are the winners of our tickets to @omyogashow I hear you ask? 😛 The following lucky ones need to grab a pal and clear your diaries - we will see you there! 🤗
@bornrunner, @sammuz30, @staceygardiner and Nikki Patel. - Please drop us a DM! ✉️
No there isn't a vegan substitute for Bone Broth. Helloooo!?? It's called "BONE" Broth folks. You Will Not Get The Same Amino-Gelatin- Nutrients From Plants. But... here's a pic of some other sources of collagen and a recipe for a mineral-rich plant based broth. •
To make your vegan version, freeze your vegetable scraps—for example, mushroom stems for the antioxidant mineral selenium, parsley stems for blood-producing iron and bone-supporting vitamin K, potato skins for the mineral potassium, carrot shavings for vitamin A—in a resealable bag or jar. When you accumulate a quart of leftovers, place them in a slow cooker and cover with two quarts of water; add ½ tablespoon sea salt and a 2-inch piece of kombu (edible seaweed) for potassium, calcium, and essential folate and iodine. Heat on high until liquid boils, then reduce to low until vegetables are very soft, 2–3 hours. Stir and strain through a colander, reserving and refrigerating the liquid, and discarding the rest. Heat and sip one cup of broth daily like you would hot tea, or enjoy it after a strenuous yoga class or other exercise.
