I followed this up with 10 minutes of sprint work on the treadmill. I'm finding my love for this sport again! I know with hard work and consistency that I have the potential to hit big numbers. I feel more ready than ever to do it!

For those of you who don't know what a training session looks like to the right is a pretty accurate depiction of about 1/16th of one :)
Ft.The most random playlist and a spotlight on myself cause why not...the key to this session was to have fun!

Also ft. a long novel ahead.. Ive gotten into the habit of beating myself up when my lifts aren't perfect, instead of celebrating any improvements.

I'll be snatching 45 kg for multiple doubles (which isn't that impressive, but I literally had months and months and moooonths where I thought I would never lift more than 43), and I'll be furious with myself after making the lifts that they weren't good enough.

I'm not sure when, but at some point I turned training from a stress reliever into a stressor.

It's time for less side views of my lifts to try critique each lift for what I did wrong. There is alot to be said about being able to just "feel" the lift, and how to move forward to the next rep from there.

I will no longer allow myself to set number goals for my lifts. Specific future numbers are out of my control. What I can control is to be more consistent, fix my damn mobility, and to trust (and stick to) the program percentages.

Time to focus on bettering my technique, not on perfecting it.

Perfection is all based on perception. There isn't one set right way even in the highest calibre of weightlifters.

I've overcome a lot this year, at this time last year I wasnt even lifting 💔. Time to have a year of fun and consistency ✌🏻 **Shoutout to weightlifting for always keeping it 100 and teaching me buttloads about myself. 😎

You may not be a person of faith but this is how I view weightlifting. I prep for weeks and months and it’s taken me years to get this far. I travel for hours and put literal blood, sweat and tears into my training sessions for a matter of seconds on stage. And for snatch, you have a fraction of a second to be ON and make your lift. I don’t even remember most of those moments. But I look back on them knowing God’s got me. I walk onto the stage with one cue in my head. And trust my lifts to the powers above. I don’t always understand why the lift was caught or not caught on balance. Why it feels heavy but still I catch it. Why the weight feels light, yet I can’t get it to move efficiently. You can blame it on your diet, making weight, sleep, stress, the judges, your head, the training cycle or whatever really. But the truth of the matter is I believe God is above it all. So I show up prepared. I show up as the calmest, most practiced, well fed, well rested version of myself. Then, I let it go.

After a nice 8 weeks of hypertrophy work, we are back at it with our heavy weight! Managed to cut some weight with my coach, but this week has been a little off. I look forward to the next year because I get to compete again & because I’ll be reaching new body compositions! Slow but steady progress is the trick! 
Whether it be losing weight, bulking up to gain muscle, lifting heavy, walking , running , etc... time, patience and work is all we could work for! I’m not trying to be inspirational, but these are essential ingredients I’ve followed to get this far with my lifting & nutrition.
