Well, I decided on holiday that I need to make some real progress with my snatch by year end. The list of flaws is too long to list here, but I’m sure I can improve several of them by year end.
The video shows my finisher of a power snatch emom at 60Kg, which really highlights my bad technique.
I followed the attached class of hang full snatch, and the class wod, with 12 rounds every 90 seconds of 2 full snatch, then finished with the 60Kg power snatch emom. This probably shows my snatch at it’s worst, as legs and shoulders were tired by this point, and it was my first session back from holiday......🙄Nevertheless, this is my line in the sand, so I really hope I make some bloody progress on my nemesis that is snatch😂
You've found it!
My fitness page... it's been a long time coming so let's get started
My names Ace and I excercise occasionally, often too occasionally so hopefully this will help keep me on track. I don't think I'll compete in anything like bldybuilding or powerlifting but I've always loved the idea of being better than I was yesterday. So this is me, my arms are over there➡ and if you wanna follow me and watch me workout sometimes that's dope. If you're here for any other reason....kindly fuck off, I don't need ya
Told myself the next time I manage to squat 200kgs I'm going for a double no matter how hard or slow the 1st one was. I completely messed up the 1st attempt and hit it on the 2nd so i grabbed my balls and went in for a 2nd rep. Do or die 🤮
Good days training concentrating on gymnastics.
Then accepted a challenge flung out from
@ld_performance_training and @davidholden6682 Thanks guys that was tricky but I stuck to the game plan.
Hold on and pedal hard.
@shibbs91 @sianpeters24 your turn.
I’ve found the key with fitness and nutrition is doing the things you enjoy that fit with your lifestyle.
Recently I’ve been adding a little CrossFit back into my training because it is something I’ve always enjoyed. It makes going to the gym and training real easy when you’re doing something you love.
Don’t like your current training routine? Try something different. Feeling burnt out at the gym? Get a good group of people to train with you.
The same goes with nutrition, if you are finding that your body is functioning better eating a certain way listen to what your body is telling you. Do you feel more recovered when you’ve added in carbs? Play around with that. Does your body feel less inflamed when you stay away from a certain food? Try eliminating it for 30 days and then slowly reintroducing it.
Bottom line life is too short to feel trapped by your training and nutrition plan. Find something that you enjoy and that balances with your life.
Value yourself, value your goals, crush your day 🔥
Love Olympic lifting sessions!! I have come so far and still have much further to go but always up for the challenge. So much discipline and focus during each rep. Snatch used to be my least favorite lift and now it’s becoming one one my favorites, well now that I feel like I understand the positions a bit more. Watching video helps address areas of weakness, like my damn hips rising too fast🙄. The hard part is getting my body in the right positions- drills, drills, drills.
It’s been about a year and a half since my last competition and workout video so here’s a quick little circuit I did yesterday because anybody that knows me knows I hate cardio. Repeated 4 times. Also please don’t judge my snatches cuz I know they’re a little rusty
By looking at this data we can see why these two athletes truly are the best in the world. .
Strength numbers for Fraser and Toomey were recorded from their lifts completed in competition as follows:
- Back squat completed in 2018 CrossFit Games “CrossFit Total”
- Snatch completed at 2017 CrossFit Games event “1RM Snatch”
- Clean completed in 2018 CrossFit Open workout “18.2a”
All weightlifting levels were recorded from @catalystathletics .
Remember that #Fraser and #Toomey lifts were done under fatigue or under a time cap, meaning that they are likely even closer to the numbers of the pro Olympic weightlifters.
Always welcome any advice to help me improve my lifting...massive shout out to @bigmarksnape who took time out of his training to give me a few technique tweaks that increased my Push Press from 57.5kg to 75kg in about 30 mins!!! #olympicweightlifting#olympiclifting

The importance of good shoulder stability, strength and range of motion is ridiculous when it comes to performing in and out the gym as possible.
The Turkish Get Up requires all that and more along with building a strong foundation & core strength.
You can incorporate ALL the abdominal exercises you want but WITHOUT core strength you're screwed IMO.
Few points to consider:
✔Start light and build up
✔Go up AND down
✔Complete equal reps on both side
✔Move Quality over anything!!
Want more information on this exercise who how you can also perform better in and out the gym hit me up!!
Thank you @_d_leighton fur being a fantastic model and client!!
