Yesterday I had a 4 hour one on one session with @ariamnovandrei in the national olympic training hall of Belarus. I have been too many seminars before, but this has yet been the best experience into how weightlifting works. Especially on what methods to use and how these methods are being applied to training. The whole style of lifting that comes from the post-sovjetic countries has also become more clear in why and how to do it.
The coaching from Andrei was very good with an eye for detail and really drilling keypoints before progressing to harder drills. Explaining which exercises he prefered for training or eliminating weaknesses. How he made them match the context and also how youth should be developed and trained. Where the priorities would be for the young athlete.
Thank you for explaining and the good training @ariamnovandrei ! Also has been a while that I have been this much of a puddle of sweat. And yes it is always humbling and it does take effort to leave your ego at the door to learn something new. I notice that have to keep getting back to the basics if I really want to progress.
My hero in it all was AGAIN @samsonovana for translating a solid 4-5 hours of Russian to English. Finding Andrei, helping me get in contact and making it all possible!
Yuzu with Brian and Ghislain after the SP at Pyeongchang. The rest of the pics are Ghislain and Yuzu after the FS, the last one is at Sochi in 2014. I love the relationship they have with each other - it looks special to me, and that makes me happy 😊 as I think it must make Yuzu happy! Plus, Ghislain looks like a great hugger and we know how much Yuzu loves hugs!! 🤗♥️
What an honour to not only photograph a British Olympic champion @dannypurvis90 but to also photograph some of the champs in LIFE. The British Gymnastics Foundation came to Scotland’s Disability Gymnastics Camp hosted in Aberdeen and brought with them a special guest! Danny Puvis spent the day here coaching, laughing and inspiring some of Scotland’s best gymnasts. The British Gymnastics Foundation look to transform lives through gymnastics. What a great day it was! Thanks Danny for being so patient with my camera in your face most of the morning! Thanks to all the gymnasts that travelled from all parts of Scotland to take part in the camp. Danny was a surprise bonus for them! ❤️ #olympicchampion#disabilitysports#aberdeen#britishgymnastics
