🥃We love this #oldfashioned glass so much that we’ve been using it for everything. Oops, are 🌱green drinks allowed? 😍
We’ve been blending up AM drinks🍹🍸 🥃 all week long! Some lessons learned:
1️⃣ blend the night before and store in a mason jar for easy grab and go. ⬆️ recipe will make plenty to share!
2️⃣ we pick lacinato kale because it’s also called 🦖 kale!!! And because it has dark gorgeous leaves filled with vitamin A, C, and K and a sweeter milder taste. Remove the stems for a smoother drink
3️⃣ reduce 🍌 and 🍏 if you are looking for fewer carbs and sugar. We love fuji and honeycrisp apples for the sweetness. You can also add 🍍(or a bit of 🍯) if you are used to way sweeter foods. It takes time to fall in love with 🌱🌿🍃.
4️⃣ we think ginger gives it a nice kick, but leave it out if you aren’t sure! We like to peel ours with a 🥄
5️⃣ get inventive! You can blend pretty much everything 😂. We choose it over juicing because we 💚that fiber keeps us full!

I was having a nice conversation a few weeks back with a very knowledgeable local “foodie” and she asked me what my favorite place was. I easily responded....The Rebel House. She replied that she had been several times and enjoyed it, but never had anything earth shattering and wouldn’t include it in her favorites. Well first off, it’s not always about the food (though it usually is) because atmosphere, service and conversation certainly is part of the “appeal”. Well I walk in last night and before I can even sit down I have my water, old fashioned and shot of fernet on the bar thanks to Steven, then @salami___mami asks if I’m hungry and offers me a tasting of a new dish called Pirozhki, a Russian savory pastry filled with brisket and topped with a poached egg, which was fantastic. Followed that up with the old school Tuna Chop Chop, brought back from the original day one menu, which was equally fantastic, and my buddy ordered the OG Fried Chicken, which was as good as any fried chicken I’ve eaten in recent memory. So even though it’s not always all about the food, the food didn’t fail and in fact it excelled.
