‘Seated figure, far away’
Meant to chronicle the feeling I had coming from the hustle and bustle of NYC back to Ohio. The noise and chaos of the city had stuck with me and I felt like I was still buzzing sitting on the floor of the drawing room. I hit a wall mentally, for sure. Made me appreciate the pace of the Midwest so much more.
I cannot leave it alone ... like a dog with a bone .... but I might just be there ... although it can be frustrating I love it that I don’t know what a painting will look and feel like ... I start out with a very rough idea inspired by the colours and shapes and then try and let it sort out over the weeks .... months ... I have to live with them for a while ... the family have to put up with a lot of ‘what about now’ ... ‘ and now’ ....
