One week post show. One week into #buildingseason or #offseason as some like to call it. Yes I’m still taking checkin pics. Yes I’m still on a controlled meal plan. Some believe post show you can jump into eating anything you would like but it is quite the opposite. Reverse diets post show are crucial to not gaining unwanted fat and messing up your metabolism. I am consuming more calories and clean carbs than I was before. After being in a deficit for 19 weeks you have to train your body to eat more and help your metabolism bump back up. Slowly decreasing cardio and increasing strength with a new lifting routine. New goals and new plans. I am ready to make this my best building season yet. See you on that National stage in 2019!
1st set: June 2nd [1 week post show] ➡️ August 18th [Today]
Swipey swipe ⏪...
2nd set: May 20th [start of peak week] - 107lbs ➡️ August 18th - 108lbs
I didn’t do anything crazy post show... just went back to the plan, stuck to it as closely as possible during the week, and allowed myself more flexibility on the weekends. This reverse approach was what I wanted and needed for myself. I know that this isn’t a crazy transformation, but I was able make slight changes in my body composition and that is a major win for me! I’m lifting heavier than I ever have at this body weight which makes me feel damn good and gets me excited to see what I’m going to achieve as we continue to increase calories to feed these baby muscles! 💪🏼 #alwaysworking#improvementseason
Nearing the end of the off-season 🏀⏳
As always, it’s not been smooth sailing by any stretch 🌊⛵️
It’s been 4 months full of AMAZING highs 🙌...but heart-sinking lows at times👎... but such is life, as they say💪
I feel like the good and the bad, not only from these last few months, but throughout the course of my life, is continually moulding me into a better, more appreciative & more resilient version of myself... and that feels good 👊
Like I’m adding layers🤔... Big up Shrek 🤙 #OgresHaveLayers
With all that being said, I’m thankful and can’t wait to get started with another pro season. It’s gonna be a good one, I can feel it 👏
Playing for everyone who’s ever taken a genuine interest in/supported me bouncing a ball for a living 😅... if you’re reading this you’re all mad, but I appreciate you ❤️
And to the few who are unfortunately no longer with us 🙏 I hope they have Instagram where you are 😌
Offseason is just like contest prep. You need a solid plan in place or you can get offtrack in a hurry. Since Nationals ive taken some time to just let my body recover from 2 back to back show preps. I pulled back and felt good. Now i'm getting that urge again to start back on a solid plan to kick off a productive offseason. 2 more weeks of reversing back up in weight and then full throttle baby. Cant't wait. ☣Are you in offseason or contest prep!?COMMENT BELOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
My performance this year didn’t live up to my expectations 🤷🏼♀️ Unfortunately, I must say goodbye earlier than originally planned. Now off season is calling! Time to relax and recharge my batteries for new challenges.
Morning shots, empty stomach at 176.6lbs.
It won’t be long before these shots start to tighten up. I’ve been thinking long and hard about the upcoming competition season and I really want to bring something special to the stage. A physique with plenty of muscle, and shredded to the bone. •
This means a longer prep, but more effective one. 24-30 weeks of prep is bouncing around in my head. In the past I’ve been around the 14-16 mark, so this will give me a bunch more time to really dial it in.
I’ll have to make a decision soon!
If you’re getting ready to compete in 2019, it may be of your best benefit to give yourself more time than you think. It gives you more time to learn your body, save muscle as you diet, and really get to levels of leanness you may have never seen before.
Sounds pretty good to me🙈
