Wicked sequence captured by @madam_gogo. Swipe ⬅️ 3 years ago when I was still a bubble skater, playing between our B team and A team, I started to become known for my ability to chase down a jammer at the top of the pack. It was the first “skill” that gave me true confidence in roller derby as I was trying to earn that Hollywood Scarlet roster spot. I felt real pride when my teammates would give me props. I’m so thankful that @madam_gogo snapped this sequence @wftda Playoffs in A Coruña last month.
I distinctly remember being in practices where I saw other amazing players successfully doing this. @laciknight33 @janewilkins0 @ccheker Then, I would be involved in drills and see the moments pass where I SHOULD have done it. Next, I saw the scenarios develop and I at least TRIED to chase the jammer, even though they smoked me every time. It took many, many months to go from awareness to trying to succeeding. I eventually got there, got noticed and it was a turning point in my derby career.
So i am a firm believer in fan girling and telling the people who inspire you how incredible they are!
@octanejane94 not only are you an incredible skater but you make it look so much fun whilst proving that even the best of us can fluff it sometimes.
You make us want to skate harder and try new things! Thank you!!! #Repost @octanejane94

Fun fail Friday. When you start out great and end with an epic butt spin out, you gotta throw in a little flair with the landing.
