I love thinking about Anna and what it must have been like to have waited her whole life to see the promise of God. I believe she was soooo faithful because she knew the gift that awaited was more than just for her...she knew it was a rescue for all of humanity. I think she knew everything we would ever need and “hope” for was embodied in the baby king who her eyes would behold. Day in and day our she held true to EXPECTATION that this HOPE FOR US was on its way.
I like to think that I have faith...but to be honest I haven’t had to wait my “entire life” on one promise. It seems He always comes onto the scene way sooner than that. Sometimes the “small portions” of time I wait for manifestations of his promises spin me into anxious panic attacks or moments of conversation with God that can sound questioning and even accusatory. My good works should somehow earn a quick response...right? So pitiful! Such a spoiled human brat I can be. Keeping my eyes on me instead of on the finished work of Christ that purchased not only all I need, but provided everything for all who have gone before and will go after me.
He hasn’t left us here to our own devices, our own abilities, and our own wisdom—Anna knew a king was coming who would be our ALL in ALL. The one who could rescue us from ourselves and the predicaments we put ourselves in by simply being human. Whatever faces you this holiday season, or whatever awaits you in the coming year...know that a baby was born that covers you. A baby was born for you to live overcoming it all. He was HOPE for all generations past, FOR YOU, and for all generations to come! Indeed a thrilling thing to know...there is HOPE🌲🎁
Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, it's unlikely you will step up and take responsibility for making it so. If you assume that there's no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope.- NC
HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY TO NOAM CHOMSKY
...A day late
I started reading Chomsky in 9th grade and he greatly helped me start to make sense of the post 9/11 world I was growing up in. Living in a small town in the south, surrounded by a pro war sentiment and biblical literalists, Chomsky was an important discovery for me. His work on how the media functions is crucial and his critique of u.s. foreign policy was particularly helpful to my growing mind.I have since developed my critiques and problems with some of chomsky, particularly his linguistic work, and dismissal of marx. - but his work is incrediablly accessible and detailed. A good read all around.

silent breakfast helps ground the energy of a group. it’s an ancient practice in spiritual community. and i’m sensing it will be a useful practice as we co-create gatherings and build communities where people with different perspectives/religions/races/sexual orientations/economic status/beliefs/traumas/insecurities/shames/fears/anger can feel safe to be heard and witnessed in their pain. spaces of non-violence. spaces where people can be of service to each other and the earth. spaces where there is healing food and herbs grown everywhere. spaces with laughter and dance and options for communal meals every night. spaces where vulnerability can be accessed and truth can be shared. spaces where there is song. spaces where there is forgiveness. spaces where everyone has connection to the plants and the elements. places where the kids are witnessed and supported in their magic and affirmed in their divinity. spaces where well-being and vitality and cultural diversity are the norm. spaces where restorative practice spaces where masks can come off and we can reveal the innocence of our hearts to each other without fear
The ultimate time that confronts the human person is the reality of death and this explains the strife to achieve and accomplish because time is running out or more truly because death is approaching. This is echoed in our daily language as we say ‘make hay while the sun is still shining’. This reality must therefore spur us into prioritizing those things that really matter those things that are not subject to time and corruption those things that are eternal such as justice, love, peace, charity, kindness. We must hurry not to amass and gather but we must hurry to learn how to live truly how to smile and how to breathe in freshness and positivity that is translated into cordial sensitivity and mutual respect for if we measure the value of our time only on material success then we will come to the sad realization at the end of our time that time can never be enough because there will always be more to achieve there will always be more to discover, more theories to formulate and more inventions.
The value of time is to open us to our limitedness to our emptiness and powerlessness before something so common yet so powerful. With trains and busses at the stations, with flights, with the constancy of seasons, with malls and curriculum, with business meetings and court hearings, with deliveries, the modern man must respect time and organize himself to be prompt and right on schedules. This must never be at the expense of truly being alive; truly being human. We must not spend the little time in doing very well what is not our true nature- we must not misplace the value of time, we must never forget to love. One writer Bejamin Tregoe once noted that “the very worst use of time is to very well do what need not be done at all”.

9 years, FB Memory Share! I remember this like it was yesterday! My 1st CONCERT PROMO PHOTO SHOT 📸
This was me, jumping in the deep without a lifejacket, me walking by faith. If, I sat down and told you all that transpired your mouth would open. 😲 🌱 There was a curious young lady drawn to how I would talk about God (relation vs religion) She would stop by my office and we would talk, read Gods Word and pray. I dared her to believe the impossible! She shared with me 1 of her wildest dreams at the time, which was to visit Africa to do mission work and we prayed concerning that. The next couple of weeks or so she would tell me that a mission group visited her church and they were going to Africa! We jumped up and down with excitement (God moves fast) going through the list of things needed she got to the money part, which caused her to doubt. All of a sudden I said, “I’ll do a concert for you” Wait, WHAT! I never did a concert, where was I going to get the money from, I wasn’t equipped for this, I didn’t have a band, my music wasn’t mastered, I didn’t have a fan base that would equate to ticket sales. HOW? 🤷🏽♀️ ☺️ You see God had a plan for us. He used us both to bless each other. God wants us to know that HE breathe greatness within us all, that HE is our provider, that HE desires to bless us, that HE created earth for our enjoyment… Potential cries out within us all to be released, Fear is Good and on the other side is FREEDOM! 📚 Ephesians 3:20-21 (MSG) reads, God can do anything, you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams. He does it not pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us. 🎉 PS. The concert was a success, 580 in attendance, and the curious young lady blessed Africa. 🇺🇬 .
Thank you FB for the reminder! It's possible! . .
black kids selling weed get throne in prison and are then rendered powerless for the rest of their lives. meanwhile, rich white dudes profit from drug sales and private prisons and maintain immense decision making power. it’s beyond time to change this || for folks interested in learning more about the Bush (and Clinton!) family involvement in CIA-supported cocaine trafficking in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, look into the work by: historian Alfred McCoy; professor and diplomat Peter Dale Scott; and journalists Gary Webb, Michael C. Ruppert and Alexander Cockburn. their work has led to investigations by the United States government, including hearings and reports by the United States House of Representatives, Senate, Department of Justice, and the CIA's Office of the Inspector General. this remains controversial to many of course because of the immense influence these families have on controlling the narrative || a prayer: as we shine light on all the injustice, may we rejoice in the creation of the new story of humanity...where we empower those who know that true wealth lies within. where we empower the wisdom and visions of the indigenous people who’s land this empire is currently crumbling on
We got a #veryspecial thing in the #mail today and we are #reallyexcited to share this one with everyone!! As you know, we at the #halloweenhouse cater to all size and shape of the common cur ;)
What you may or may not know is we do a ton of research about pet toys, nutrition, behaviors, and safety; our goal is to provide a place that is very much home, and we care for these mongrels better than ourselves in many ways!
One big concern is toys; although we do like to indulge in cheap-o (quality) cute toys on racks at pet stores many (#many ) times those toys are not only destroyed, but become a choking or blocking hazard.
We want quality toys that can stand up to the full force of a canine’s crushing maw, not a claw game novelty to impress that first date ...
Honestly, when it comes to toys I’m hard to please, call me old school but I’d much rather give them natural things to occupy their time however that does NOT detract from the indispensability of a #quality#chewtoy
One that my dogs ain’t eatin’. I’d like to bring your attention to the rugged folks of @usak9dogtoys !!
If you have a heavy chewer (like my boy Tanks) you’ll want their subscription box;
For a mere $10/month you will have a dependable American made toy delivered to you and your pup!
Throughout this month they’re offering 2 toys in your first box!! It’s a spectacularly great value!
You will hear more from me later!
Their store is in their bio!
Check them out, VERY worth the follow!! ‘
Who would have known my then lucrative (but unknown to me) acting and modelling career would be a throwback Thursday post 200 years later.
An intensely shy child, I hated these shoots, because of all the attention you get during the shoot - but especially after.
This campaign was one of many running simultaneously in newspapers, TV, magazines and, worst of all, billboards.
My face was plastered across the street from my school, which generated unwanted attention and even affection, also unwanted, from Ms. Simpson.
She kissed my cheek, after pinching it and saying I was so cute; it was noted by a friend, who ran upstairs to tell everyone that Ms. Simpson kissed me (on cheek). That was the last day of my 15 minutes of celebrity glory.
I ran home and told my parents I would never do that again. They were out sizeable dollars, but I could Rest In Peace - at least until they drank and fought. But that’s another chapter... In this shoot, I insisted to the Creative Director I did not want to stand beside anyone called “Canada’s Mr. Fix It” nor stage parents, so I chopped ice beside them.
Early training, perhaps, for a future change agent and Occupy Wall Street advocate.
Or just a person who does not always abide by rules. (Which has upsides and downsides!) .
Growth not as high, when looking at percentages. Caveat, I had a 250% increase few weeks ago.
Daily traffic has been consistent and growing. Still trying out different strategies but so far its all working.
I'm done with my Google course, didn't have time to complete two projects to get the degree but I now know how to develop the entire network.
I spent years doing infrastructure, started selling ADSL when T1s were 1500 a month. I was Microsoft certified and spent half a decade doing network upgrades as a systems engineer.
I am now equipped to fully develop my network. So buckle up, I'm working on three different sites, 40 plus more to go, a rebranding and refresh of others.
