Sending a mega shout out to Chris Mazurek who came 2nd in the (30-39 category) for the 21km Spartan Beast in Bright over the weekend 💪🏼
Chris has been training with us for a few years now but a few months ago decided to join our Transformation Training as he had to goal of making the podium at the Bright Spartan event.
Chris has been a fantastic client to train, he has trusted our methods and sometimes madness over the last few months and has followed the plan down to the tee.
Two weeks ago, Chris rolled his ankle during a trail run and thought his chances of completing the Spartan Race were over.
With some grit, determination and support and guidance from everyone, Chris got back on the horse and did a gentle run and realised that he still had a chance. He just has to believe in himself as much as we did.
When we got the news that Chris came 2nd we were so over the moon and happy for him that he had crushed his goal especially with the setback 2 weeks prior.
Chris, we can’t say enough how proud of you we are and how much of an inspiration you are not only to us but to your fellow gym goers.
You are an amazing client and friend and we can’t wait to see what next year holds 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 #gforcefamily#spartan#spartanrace#obstaclecourse#transformation#results

When my brother visits, I drag him to ninja. When I stay with him for Thanksgiving, we hit the weights 🏋🏼♀️ I made the mistake of asking @sjbowler what one of the beginning milestones for deadlifts were... my form could use some work, but here’s my attempt at 225 lbs!
#MedalMonday - Its the end of the season, so I felt it was time to debut the wall of medals, from 2013 - Saturday's F.I.T. Challenge. I'm sure you noticed, but theres still plenty of room for next years haul.

Back to back podiums this weekend! Sunday’s super my legs didn’t feel quite as peppy as usual, but I ran clean again and am stoked with my finish. This was the only US race I ran this year, and I’m looking forward to doing a lot more races down south next year. 🇺🇸 Thanks to the volunteers who spent all day in that desert windstorm! See y’all next year. 💪🏾

Posted @withrepost • @teachisabeast First ever Ultra Beast, third place finish (despite 210 burpees), below freezing at the start, and ice (first lap) then mud (second lap) on all the obstacles.
Bummed about not being able to chase another podium on Sunday, but I had to listen to my body.
If I tried to explain what this was like, it'd sound like a lot of gibberish. Ha! I have only ran 20 miles one other time in my life. Still, my pace, when I could run, was just over a 10 min/mile pace.
I have the most supportive, super group of people in my OCR family!
I led for a little while, but around mile 6 my legs starting hurting. I'm still not sure what happened, but I kept pushing. I got passed in mile 22, and that put me in 3rd place. The pain was so much that I was afraid my legs would give out. I've never run more than a Beast distance, but I'll have to figure out what made me hurt so early in the race. I didn't cramp. Just hurt.
Thank you @gritarmy for making a pair of socks that I could wear for over 6 hours with no bunching, no blisters, and no holes!
Food was so important before, during, and after this race, and I nibbled on @chomps.
As always, my @buffyourbody traveled with me. Hurt so good after the race, but super important for recovery!
My @newf_fitness is currently holding ALL of my race stuff, and then some. I'll never love another bag as much as this one. Is it okay to love a bag?
Changes in footing and ground texture, especially when surrounded by trees or bushes could mean life or death for the wold or feral horse. Using positive reinforcement, this horse Rico, has adjusted nicely. He confidently follows his owner Lilan Arena and she correctly allows him the freedom to check out the unusual footing lying between the trees. Later, they also do this obstacle under saddle at varying gaits building confidence and trust while in an enriched environment/obstacle clinic. Obstacles done properly with +R are good for mind, body, and emotions and improve connection in hand and under saddle. Give it a try!
