2) this is a lesson. Sometimes people IRL allude to how “easy” it must be to lose weight. It’s NOT. Tonight is a PRIME example of that. I wanted Taco Bell, like reallyyyyy bad. I could even taste it! But instead of going to TB for that delicious Doritos loco taco 🤤🤤🤤 I put together my own tacos. I saved money and points!

All of this to say: every food decision you make matters. I’ve had an off track couple of days, but I hopped right back on ASAP. Every meal is a new opportunity to change your life. I easily could have “waited until Monday” but why not start now?

Don’t feel ashamed when you do slip up, it’s human nature. Just turn it around as soon as you can and keep going. Changing your life is hard, but oh so worth it 💜

Today was a broccoli kind of day. 🥦  For dinner I had some homemade broccoli cheddar soup and then for dinner I had a twice baked potato stuffed with broccoli and cheddar (I paired it with some grilled chicken). It’s amazing to me that I eat broccoli now when just a short few months ago I couldn’t stand it. My how my tastebuds have changed!

Cellulite, some girls have more of it than others but almost every girl has it. But we often seem to forget that it’s so normal having it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Because of so called “perfect” pictures on instagram, we think we should look like those instagram models with the smooth skin and toned bodies. So many girls believe they have to look like that to be beautiful, worth it or to be accepted. And yes, I also believed I needed look a certain way to “fit in”. 😅 But sometimes we forget those pictures are often photoshopped, posed and edited. Please keep in mind that instagram isn’t always real life and it’s so easy to photoshop pictures. ☝🏼 Don’t be hard on yourself by wanting to look like the models on the pictures. Having cellulite, stretch marks, or whatever doesn’t make you less attractive or less worthy. So don’t be afraid a show them💕

It was wedding weekend for my bestie. 🔥🙌🏼 I didn’t hit the gym, I ate whatever I wanted (treat yo self) and guess what? I didn’t gain a pound. Nope. Not a one. It’s not about what you do once in awhile, it’s about what you do consistently! Never deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying an event or trip to the fullest. And can we talk about a serious glow-up? My dad told me today I don’t even look like my old self, and thank goodness for that. Pancakes are something I’ve missed big time since being diagnosed as a coeliac two years ago. I feel like I never have time to cook in the mornings so I was pretty freakin stoked to find gluten free pancakes where you just had to heat them up 🙌🏼👏🏼👌🏼 Three pancakes and sugar free maple flavoured syrup with some frozen berries comes out at 284.5 calories can’t complain about that 👌🏼

So there’s  16 days left in July and starting tomorrow I will no longer be eating any type of artificial sweeteners. I rely on them way too much when I travel and I experience stomach issues and bloating from the bars, candy, and drinks. So no more! I plan on extending this into August too😊 I didn’t end up fasting today because we were out until about 4am last night and I got hungry. All of these foods plus a serving size of pork rinds, a serving of pepperoni chips, and roast beef w/ cheese come out to a rough estimate of 1700 calories and 15NC. I went on a walk earlier and met my step goal but still deciding if I want to go the gym. It’s been a good Sunday☺️

I have never felt that I was obese but numbers are numbers and this one matters to me on this journey!! But no matter what the scale says I know I am completely awesome. I have been plagued by minor inconveniences in my personal life this past week, issues that were not enough to get rise a from me but they took up my time which I hate, have you ever been so used to going through rough life altering shit that when minor stuff happens it's like oh god really now universe, this bullshit??.. really??

But because I'm hella introspective though, I had to sit down with my journal & reflect on why the stuff that happened did & I realized that it had to with boundaries. I don't have any, even with this blog. People seem to think that because I share so much, so willingly & I'm extremely self deprecating then it's okay to fuck with me and piss all over my personal space. With this blog which I treat more like a diary, I haven't received any shit yet but now I'm wondering if I will. Have any of you had a follower get too personal? And how would you suggest dealing with it?

Hi everyone my name is Dana Suchow!
Pronounced Sue-Cow. It used to be Suchowsky but was cut short at Ellis Island. My great grandparents are from Belarus. I was raised Jewish.
Im 34 years old and I live in New York City. I’m from San Jose, California, but moved to San Francisco when I was 17. At age 25 I moved across the country to New York City where I’ve lived ever since!

Growing up I always hated my body. I’ve had acne all my life and was the first kid in elementary school to break out. But while I always had a disordered relationship with food as well as severe body dysmorphia, it wasn’t until moving to NYC that I developed a full blown eating disorder.
I didn’t know anyone in NYC at the time other than my roomate, and being scared & alone were the final straws to developing Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, and Exercise Compulsion. To this day I still have injuries from all those years of overexercising.

6 years ago I started fashion blogging (I was dating a fashion photographer at the time so it made sense) but blogging just caused my ED to spiral out of control - I wouldn’t eat for days before shoots, then I’d binge uncontrollably for days after.

Over the years I’ve shared my recovery on here, and I am no longer the scared little girl who needed clothes, thinness, and photoshop to be loved. I am finally Dana Suchow, eating disorder activist and diet culture educator! ✊🏼
I throw events, I speak, I travel, and I work to ensure future generations don’t hate their bodies like ours do.

What a great day ! Worked 12 hours. 2 hours spent at the beach with the clients than 3 and a half hours spent at Bluesfest with one of my clients. It helped get most of my daily goals done.

After having my third child, I never thought I would meet friends like this. 😭

Some days I felt like I was in groundhogs day. 3 little boys under 3 and I poured so much of myself into them that I found myself in a downward spiral of anxiety, obesity, and lonliness.
.
I started to lose weight but in the end I gained myself. I got connected into a COMMUNITY of FRIENDS from all over the world - that all felt the same way at one time - but were showing up daily for themselves to be better wives, mothers, friends. 🔥
.
I get to travel all over the world with them (Nashville, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Salt Lake City, Riviera Maya) and learn, grow, party, laugh with women who I feel like I’ve known my whole life. 💃🏼
.
And with this passion comes a business, one I have built having a full time job and 4 kids. One I’ve built in the cracks of my day. One that pays my rent every month purely fueled by passion and a want to leave this world in a better space than where you entered. 💕
.
See all you need is a little heart to want to change. To have a better life. To see that there’s more for you in this moment besides the monotony of where you are at. 🙌🏻

Physique update. Sunday bathroom flex sesh :-) It's hard to post videos like this because of my loose skin, but I'm owning it and have done the best I can to get healthy.

The best thing about this is...I set a goal of 180lbs and although it took my a year and a half, I never gave up and kept pushing till I hit it.

Well yesterday was the best deadlift day of my life! Even tho i didn't get 200 for 3 because the plates fell off 😂😂 i know i have it in me, so i went on and did 180kgs for a rep pb. this is the strongest i have ever been in my life and still slimming down!

Kept a 3.4 mph average #pace for a full hour! New #PR :) . Not sure if you can tell my entire shirt is #soaked!! Haha! Today is day 96 for me weighing in at 282.8, a total of 57 lbs lost! Going to start doing more in the #gym and getting a full fledged routine in 4-5 times per week once I hit 270lbs. So far it's been 90% diet/10% gym which has been an amazing combo for my "phase 1" where I'm applying and reinforcing routine nutritional habits and doing just enough at the gym (walking, bike, circuit training) to where I'm not destroying my joints. Ever hear "You can't outwork a bad diet?" It's so true! Keep your diet as your fortress and your gym efforts as your patrol units and you'll be #undefeatable. the fact that this was my work outfit and not my gym outfit baffled my mind 😂 I love how comfy I can dress for my job 😍😍 .

Today I was only at the gym doing things for a maximum of 30 minutes. Getting up early constantly is honestly exhausting and I came home and crashed for a bit 🙈 I think it’s time to introduce some pre-workout into my life, or re-evaluate what I should do in a day at the gym, because I’m just not capable of it after being up at 5:30am and working all day 😂 I know a new job is an adjustment, and it’s just something I need to figure out with time, but hooooly I miss being able to do a FULL workout, and be able to add a cardio session on top. It’s definitely affecting my results, which isn’t the end of the world, but I wanna get back to how I was in probably may with what I do in the gym, even though I know my endurance is UP now, I can do things more, I just get tired easier. 😊 .
