In your readings, you may find Polynesian women described as "papaya shaped" with papa'a, or "darker than average" skin.. I laugh at the intention of ridicule, when this is what we celebrate most. We will continue to eat, dance for, and love all that the land provides. We will continue to lather ourselves in oil and bask under the Pacific sun. For one day, you will seek the knowledge of our people to continue life on this earth. You will seek the power we hold as Polynesian women, for it is generations strong🌿🖤 #koupikobeauty
Ten years ago, we escaped a battered and beaten Galveston Island. Only a few months after Hurricane Ike took everything, we decided to give ourselves a break. A vacation from faxing insurance companies, bearing our souls and finances to FEMA (with zero results), and the mud and moldy smells of our demolished home. We went to visit a friend in Oahu - and had the time of our lives. Now, the kids are grown, the house is fixed, our jobs came back, but we still visit Oahu. This Island gave us back our sanity, our happiness and our hope. Those memories that we made here 10 years ago will last me a lifetime. This may not be Galveston, but Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. So, ALOHA from the Avinas on vacation. By the way, right now is the cheapest time of the year to visit Hawaii. And an airbnb is so much better than a hotel. .
Today, I’m wearing the AMERICA POCKET tee from United States. This flag is designed by @serengetee and helps our injured veterans get the treatment they deserve. Right NOW! It is BOGO pocket tee sale...so you can give your love one a nice gift since it is the season of giving. Serengetee also donates 10% of their profits from the pocket sale to the cause/community. Wear your cause today! #Pockets4acause#Serengetee#Weartheworld
Enjoying rainy seaside weather in Honolulu! Tried to do the Diamond Head hike but parking was a mess. Ending up doing a quick drive around instead before it started pouring! Gotta love unpredictable weather 🌧️
O’ahu, Hawaii: Start the day hiking up Diamond Head Crater
It’s not too long of a hike and you get great 360 views of the landscape, ocean, and Honolulu. This is probably the most popular hike, so there will be lots of people, but it’s still worth it. Or if you don’t mind waking up super early, you can probably avoid the crowd by coming when it just opens.
