I’m just a gal who really likes pizza. We sampled the new summer menu at @misslucys_nz and it was divine. Not only is the pizza delicious and the views incredible, the fit-out is aesthetically pleasing (aka instagrammable!) Extra points from me. 🍕✌🏽 #misslucys#whatwouldlucydo#kindlygifted
Finally got my Coromandel mussels - phew! I know you were all holding your breath. Only option was a coconut broth with orange and shallots. Unusual with the orange flavour instead of lime but the mussels were excellent! Big, so fresh and flavourful. The cafe was called Umu and it did @goodgeorgebeer on tap plus pizzas and a bunch of delicious looking things. Second highlight for me came watching the older couple next to us order Bao for the first time: the wife explained what they were, her husband overtly rolled his eyes and pulled out a sandwich, she proceeded to eat them with a knife and fork 😂
🚨NEW FAVE CAFE🚨

FOR ONLY $12 !! available from Mon - Thu 12-3pm. You will not be disappointed by what they bring to the table. The chicken wings were coated with a lip smacking sweet honey sauce with sesame seeds 😋 The Patty was tender and filling though it was a mini burger but what surprised me the most was how BIG the drink was 😱 How generous of @andys_burgers 😍 Definitely coming back again 8.8/10
The other week when we visited @tasteofauckland (where we pretended to be professional food critics), we made it a priority to hit up the @baduzzi stall, given the restaurant serves up some of Auckland’s best Italian food. Baduzzi is actually famous for its meatballs (I mean apparently it’s the Sicilian word FOR meatballs so you get the picture), so as veges it’s been a bit sad not being able to have a taste of its renowned dish. We were therefore stoked that the pop up Baduzzi was doing polpette vegetariane (a vegetarian meatball) with goat cheese and fire-roasted aubergine. The polpette was flavoursome enough, and came in a tasty tomato sauce, but it seemed a bit wrong that it was stashed inside a taco-like wrap. Polpette in Italy aren’t supposed to be eaten with spaghetti like we do it here, so I feel like if Baduzzi were trying to keep it traditional they shouldn’t have copped out and should have just served it as is. Still, I’m glad to have given it a go, I’d give it a well-rounded 7.5/10. On a side note, we also had the tiramisu which I’d give a solid 8.5/10 (I’ve had it from the restaurant before where it’s presented rather more aesthetically, but it still consisted of the same lusciously thick mascarpone and rich baileys, amaretto and chocolate flavour, offset with a nice crunch provided by the chocolatey wafer, which I lurvee). Either way, we weren’t expecting the exact same quality of food that @baduzzi offers at its restaurant so we weren’t that disappointed... In fact, it’s all the more reason to return for a proper meal at this Italian institution ASAP! 🙌🏼
The longer we worked in the superyacht industry the more apparent it became to us that even with seemingly unlimited funds most people just want comfort food in the comfort of their own home (or yacht!). That inspired Off Duty as we wanted to translate those learnings into simple dinners that Wellingtonians could put together at home. Bon Appetit!

Lunch @ Riverstone Kitchen on the way to Dunedin
today is basically the most exquisite day the big man upstairs has gifted us and because i need absolutely no excuse to spend my money I decided to spend this exquisite day filling my tum with raw slices from @littlebirdorganics @theunbakery 🌞 obviously picked up the caramel slice as it’s my fave but tried the carrot cake this time also. ok. now I froth a regular carrot cake at the best of times but when it’s a) raw and b) made by little bird u can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be frothing 10x more. texture was absolutely oN POINT, such yum icing and so cinnamony and nutty as a good carrot cake should be!! anyway hope u are all out enjoying this beauty of a friday miss u love u
FARFALLE SPRING SALAD //
I love pasta. It’s so easy to use and you can make a quick meal with it in under 20mins (or 15min if you’re Jamie Oliver).
The pasta I used is ‘farfalle’ which translates to butterflies 🦋. It’s also known as bow-tie pasta.
I thought farfalle was appropriate as we see a lot more butterflies during spring.
Here’s how to make this easy-as salad.
Salad Ingredients include:
🦋Rummo Farfalle pasta
🌱Chopped baby spinach
🥜toasted nuts; i used walnuts, but I recommend pinenuts
🧀finely grated or shaved parmesan
Salad dressing ingredients include:
🐟Anchovies (vegans should use capers)
🧀Finely grated Parmesan
💚Extra virgin olive oil
1. Heat a fry pan with a small amount of oil and only for a few seconds flash fry the fresh sage to help release its oil and aroma then transfer the sage to a board and chop with a knife.
2. Using a mortar and pestle ground up the chopped sage, anchovies and parmesan into a paste then add enough oil to make a dressing. It should now taste quite salty (this is good because once it’s applied to the pasta it will balance out).
1. Cook pasta until ‘al dente’, then drain and cool.
2. Add all the chopped greens, toasted nuts and cheese to the cooled pasta.
3. Pour over the oil dressing and toss through the salad.
4. Season with extra salt and pepper if necessary or alternatively squeeze some fresh lemonade fruit juice over it to add a sweet citrusy edge. (Lemonade fruit is a hybrid citrus grown in New Zealand 🇳🇿. Its a cross between a lemon and a mandarin).
You can find many of the ingredients I used from @mediterranean_food_company
