If you’re a new follower you may not know that Seek & Swoon was inspired by a two month sabbatical we took with our 2 1/2 and 5-year-olds during the summer of 2015. We spent time in four countries exploring, meeting the nicest people, and trying new foods and new languages. Most of our throws are inspired by places we saw during that and other trips (tap the photo to learn more about the throw inspired by this beautiful island). We have many more adventures ahead of us and on our bucket list. Where are you headed? What’s on your bucket list?
"When a father empowers his daughter it connects them forever, creating two greater beings." - Joe Paeonesa, Advisor to G(irls)20
When I became a father for the first time, I was somewhat relieved that our first child was a boy. It was what I was used to and comfortable with. I knew my knowledge of what it takes to become a man would serve me well. (Please stop snickering.) When we adopted our daughter, I was a bit more apprehensive because caring for a girl was an unknown for me. I can laugh now at the “old me” who thought it would be different. Caring for a baby – whether it be a boy or girl – is pretty much the same. I still loved them the same way even if their diaper changes were handled a bit differently. I sang Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Edelweiss" to both of them at night. I fed them similarly. I carried them in my arms the same way. And I still hug and kiss them goodnight the same.
But raising a daughter in today’s world is simply an awesome responsibility. It is my greatest hope that by speaking truth and love to her, by taking the time to affirm my unconditional love for her, and simply showing belief in her, our daughter will be armed with the empowerment she needs for her future.
As a father, my hope is to empower our daughter. I want to give her the tools that she needs to succeed. I want to encourage her to be strong and smart. I want to teach her to be curious and inquisitive. I hope I know when to step back so she can become an independent women - a woman who makes her own decisions and also learns from them. I want to respect her dreams so she grows to be a woman with vision. Most of all, I hope that if and when when she falls - she knows in her heart that I believe in her as she gets back up again.
Dream big, my daugher. EVERYTHING about you is beautiful!

For the past couple of months I’ve been trying to execute 4 little dream collections of new designs for upcoming @americasmartatl and @ny_now gift shows.
Meet collection 2 of 4. Delicate pendants in gold plated or antique pewter, embellished with a tiny semi precious gemstone. Each gemstone reflects on of 12 birthstones. All packaged on a beautifully designed display card by @hunter_oden and printed by hand by the lovely @yelladogpress I can’t thank these two artist enough for making my Little dream a reality! We’ll debut these designs at upcoming shows and in @bellavitajewelry_shop & online this Fall. More photos coming soon, just wanted to share a little victory this morning. 😁 What do you all think?!?!
Our team took the challenge and the results are in! We swapped out our old fluffy bath towels for our new foutas. 🛁Results were pretty consistent. It took a few days to get used to but the foutas worked just as efficiently and dried much faster when hanging. No more damp towels in our houses! They were soft to the touch and seem to be getting even softer with each wash. BONUS: our towel bars never looked so pretty 🙌🏻 We can see why this has been a trend for so long and are happy to be on board! Anyone else out there make the switch? #foutatowel#organiccotton#organicliving
We 💙💜 this throw. Inspired the the suzani pattern, it's hand block printed and naturally dyed on organic cotton. The embroidery and the tassels are added by women who are part of the NGO we work with.

Slip casting is an industrial technique that I have adapted to create unique pots and turn then into candles. These are the drops that fall on the table and I reuse them to make buttons, earrings, necklaces...
