Did you know that @baccarathotels does a vegan high tea upon special request? For my friend’s birthday, she wanted to do high tea which I’ve never done before, so I was excited to play fancy for a day 💃 They hooked me up with great tea (obvs) and an assorted set of vegan pastries. It’s expensive, but the space/mood is great for a special occasion 💁♀️ #veganeatsnyc
I’m not sure how much more room I have inside me, but I was still able to fit in a trip to @champsdiner for dinner last night. I didn’t get a pic of the Rueben, and I should have because it was really, really good. I miss that cheesecake already.
I finally made some healthy baked GF vegan doughnuts! 🍩I’ve been wanting to make these for a while but kept forgetting to make them honestly. Since it is fall🍁 why not make pumpkin spiced doughnuts!? Guys! I kid you not when I say these were so delicious 🤤 the texture was not like your typical doughnut being that they were baked. These doughnuts came out tasting more like cake, kind of like an old fashion doughnut which were actually my favorite before going vegan. 🧡
🌼 I've been awake since 5am after a 32 (!) hour journey back home from NY to Sydney, suddenly propelled back into a world familiar. Nearly seven months away, the best seven months of my life, so rich and varied and raw and elated and sometimes deflated and every emotion you can feel, I felt it spurred on by moving in a world that offers it all up to you, if you would just take it. I have so much I want to say but I'm still gathering my thoughts; it's good to be home. I'm ready to reshape this life here. Ever upward 🌼

Baked Tofu with Sesame Soy Sauce: served with ramen, broccoli rabe, enoki mushrooms, topped with sesame seeds and green onion 😋. I like to keep baked tofu and this yummy sauce in my fridge on hand. I just shake up the sauce heat it, and mix it in with my tofu, veggies, and noodles during the week.
Recipe: What you need for the tofu: 14oz extra firm tofu, 2 tbls tamari/soy sauce
What you need for the sauce: 1/2 cup tamari/soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbls arrowroot, 2 tbls maple syrup, 1 tsp toasted sesame oil, 2 tlbs toasted sesame seeds, 1 tsp rice vinegar , 1 in piece of ginger peeled and grated, 2 garlic cloves peeled and grated
1️⃣For the tofu: preheat oven to 400 F, cut tofu into 8 slabs width wise, cut slabs in half, then slice halves into triangles,
2️⃣ Place slices on a kitchen towel, with another towel on top, then gently place a heavy pan on top of that to squeeze out the extra water for 10min. Your tofu will thank you and be more tasty.
3️⃣ Place tofu pieces on a parchment lined baking sheet and brush tofu with the tamari until coated on all sides
4️⃣ Bake for 15-20 min gently flipping half way
5️⃣ While Tofu is baking make the sauce. Whisk together all the ingredients in a small sauce pan over medium heat 2-3 min
6️⃣ Pour the yummy sauce over baked tofu, and mix it up with the rest of your dish. Enjoy!! Happy Thursday •inspired by my foodie friend and tofu queen Rebecca @thezestylime I would also like to share this dish with my friend Silvia @scecco_food.for.thought just because 😉😂💕
