Flourless chocolate cake piled high with whipped cream and blackberries and both raspberries and champagne grapes and figs and honey and smoked almonds on gold-plated platters. ☀️ 🥂#summerinthehamptons 🌙🍾 Whole red snapper, kinda smashed pebble potatoes, caramelized braised fennel, corn on the cob and buttery @frantoiofranci Gran Cru herby lemony sauce. 🌽 A sort of shopska salad with burgundy and yellow tomatoes, cukes, roasted peppers, red onion, arugula, smoked scamorza, ricotta salata, @massimobottura Villa Manidori Barolo red wine vinegar and @mandranova Biancolilla #evoo . 🍅🥒 Before that was zucchini flower pakora to tame all that rosé. 🍋 300-day aged Gorgonzola, figs, flatbread, fennel salumi, 24-month Prosciutto di Parma. 🧀 And before that a two-hour train ride, a missed train, a high pressure shopping trip through @eatalyflatiron on the same day as their #nycdoh inspection and a half day of work in #nj . 🙌
Violations happen endlessly on #centralparksouth due to absence of enforcement! -in the photo, an activist documents a horse tethered to a fire hydrant. Parking in front of fire hydrants is not only a #violation it poses a big #safetyrisk to local residents and business in the case of a fire! -unattended and untethered #horses can spook at any moment and bolt into the street or over the sidewalk. In fact, horses have died that way in NYC. It is also a violation of NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Section 17-330-b.1 “Horses shall not be left untethered or unattended except when confined in a stable or other enclosure.” -the horse in the bottom video is eating a pile of feed directly off the asphalt. This contaminates the feed with oil and gas dripping from vehicles, urine and excrement from other horses and dogs, along with the other filth that accumulates on Central Park South on any given day. The driver is too busy lounging inside the carriage to get the horse a bucket or move them away from the contaminated pile.

So excited to help @drdemetre and the #nycdoh break in the new sexual health clinic in #chelsea . Received a text that I have been exposed to gonorrhea and syphilis. Let’s get treated, tested, and move on. 💊💊💉
This weekend, I tried out something I've wanted to do a for a long time. I brought Phoenix with me to a protest!
There was a TON of thought that went into doing this and it's not something I would advise doing with most chickens or at most events. The factors (location, weather, risk of violence, her personality, and many more) aligned to make this seem worth trying out. And it went super well! She did great, showed zero signs of stress, and even at one point fell asleep in my lap.
The protest was a home demonstration at the residence of #MaryBassett , Commissioner of the NYC Department of Health. The DOH, with Bassett at its helm, has the power to shut down #Kaporos , the illegal annual slaughter of 60,000 chickens on the literal streets of Brooklyn--the killing Phoenix was rescued from this past September and Rose was rescued from the previous year. Seven health codes are violated, as blood, feathers, and feces fill the streets in high-traffic areas. These are illegal pop-up slaughterhouses, and the city actually *helps* the killers (setting up lights and barricades) instead of enforcing the laws.
My friends tried the diplomatic approach, met with Bassett, and presented all of the facts. But this issue is unjustly political and it's become clear she will not take action unless we keep the pressure up. And so we will.
Thanks to everyone who was there yesterday, especially the activists I jacked these photos and videos from (@editanyc, @fontana_zool, someone else I don't know) 😅
If you're in the area and want to know about future demos, let me know and I'll keep you posted!

I will NEVER serve food out of a kitchen that isn't 99% spotless including the parts that you can't see behind and underneath equipment. My chefs have set my standards high. The years of grime, bacteria, mouse feces and fungal build up is apparently fine for the previous restaurant to get an A, yet, true chef operated restaurants like PerSe get a B ratings from open water containers and Pommes Rissolee. Cleanliness and sanitation standards are not being met at most non-chef owned restaurants and franchises. Just because the customer can't see the years of abysmal food holding conditions, and grime build up, doesnt give you the right to serve food out of mice infested disposable containers. Something has to change about the NYC dept of health. Have some fucking standards, guys.
My chefs. Thank you.

Deli 48 on West 48th Street in NYC. Flies all over the bread and food and this Korean FUCK stands and says "OH WELL, WHO CARES". Like what the fuck. This is how you get sick. Flies feed on fecal matter, dead corpses and other disease riddled bacterium. This is only a few weeks after I got fruit which was bad because it was left out in a open refrigerator where the temperature was lowered. Not to mention the fact that they have a minimum for debit cards which is illegal as that ONLY applies to credit cards. #delis48#nycdoh#news4ny#nbcnews#eyewitnessnews#abc7eyewitness#nysdoh#investigate311
