It’s only been a week since I’ve been back and I’m already missing being in the city with @greg_stelt. ❤️
We only had a few things planned, but other than that we just went with the flow! No stress to be at a certain place at a certain time. We did whatever we wanted whenever we wanted, and tried to cram in as much exploring as possible! This spontaneous pedicab ride around Central Park was hands down one of my favorite things we did! ✨
Have you ever been to NYC at holiday time when the tree is up at Rockefeller and the skaters are out in full force? The crowds (and major anxiety if you’re like me) are worth it. It’s magic✨
I live closeby so this is pretty much my back yard but I don’t take it for granted
My mom (pictured here) and I have made it a tradition to take my daughter into the city every December! Last year we went to see the Rockettes at Radio City and this year was her very first experience at the American Girl store (which will be the last time I ever do that part😂)
Anyway, the joy of seeing the world through the eyes of a child didn’t disappoint yesterday. There were meltdowns and a near time-out on the sidewalk yesterday if I’m being honest but OVERALL it was pretty special and I hope you all get to experience something similar with your own family🥰
Flashback Saturday. Is that a thing? This time last year, I realised one of my life’s dreams: visiting New York at Christmas, with Mr Fizz-free and the little Frizette. It was as magical as expected - the twinkling lights, the huge trees, the jaw-dropping shop windows, the constant soundtrack of jazzy Christmas music and refrains of “Happy holidays”, the buzz on the streets, the cabs, the Christmas markets, the Times Square glitz, the snow, The Rockettes, Santa Con in full swing, the Greenwich Village brownstones with their wreathes and fairy lights... The only moment of slight disappointment during the whole trip was discovering this free “hot apple cider” outside Bubby’s, one of my favourite restaurants, wasn’t cider as I knew it. And yes, we were there for breakfast - and so I made up for it with a strong Bloody Mary. How things can change in a year. I’d savour that hot cider now, enjoying the toasty cosy feeling it gave me while knowing it wasn’t going to contribute to a sludgy feeling later. Just reminiscing over here with my AF G&T. Hope you’re all having lovely festive weekends x #NYC#nycatchristmas#NewYork#Bubbys#hotcider#alcoholfree#soberlife
