Well.. doesn’t that just punch you in the face 😳
What a statement!
If this doesn’t encourage you to change I do not know what will.
Let’s take a look 👀
This morning I want to motivate you guys to understand the importance of change.
The words “ if you do not change, nothing around you will” are vital to your healthy life.
How many people out there are stuck in the same eating patterns?
Eat the same food?
Stuck in a rut?
Scared to try something new?
Emotionally traumatised by certain foods their mum shoved down their throats as a child?
These are all factors influencing people to keep on the same track. And that is why nothing is changing.
Think about it. Imagine trying something you have always seem to have disliked because your inner child has always said NO to it before?
Does that make sense??🧐 What if it is your past trauma that has influenced the way you have eaten and that’s why you have kept the way you have through your eating life?
Can we do something about this?
OF COURSE!! One change can change your life.
Delving into unknown territories is exciting!
Do you know why?
Because that’s where influence and change is.
Who knows what you may discover once you breach your mind boundaries.
Do not let your head rule what is best for you. It is not in charge. Your heart and spirit is.
Use that and drive on.
Try something new today that will feel in comfortable. . A new vegetable
. A hated vegetable
. Fruit water instead of pop
. Little less on your plate
. No processed quick food
. No sugar in that tea
. No breakfast cereal
. Fresh produce for dinner
. A run
. A walk
. A swim
. Loving yourself
Every little thing counts.
Go grab it. 💪🔥👀🙏🏻👨🏼🍳🤔🥗🙌🎉🏃♂️🤞🙋🏻♂️❤️ .
Good morning! 🤗Breakfast time. Today I decided to have pancakes for breakfast as on working days I have no time to cook it🤔 Sooo, here is my tasty whole wheat banana pancakes (no additive sugar) with greek yougurt and dried prunes! Loving it😋💛 Rich in fibre and vitamin B6, potassium and iron.👌 #breakfast#nutritionist#nutritious#morningvibes
Got that Friday feeling-breakfast treat VEGAN TRIFLE POTS OH YEA-baked apricots and peaches with grapefruit juice, vegan custard made with dairy free milk, @nushfoods dairy free yoghurt and some toasted almonds. No refined sugars, crunchy and juicy and enough goodness compared to a shop brought trifle. Such a quick and simple recipe that hits the sweet spot! Happy Friday all!
Today’s dilemma 😂😂😂 I am a strong advocate of doing both on Fridays - I already got my AM training session in the bag, but best believe, I’m having a couple of G&Ts later on today. My type of balance 😉
On a #balance note, I always try to aim for the 80-20 rule and being #flexible with my #training and #diet . 80% of training like I mean it and focusing on eating whole, #nutritious foods. So the remaining 20% leaves me with room to enjoy foods I love like #pizza#chocolatebrownies#pasta ... you name it. And a good glass or two (or three 😜) of wine. Plus, taking time off from training enables my body to #recover . Do I have 100% weeks of training 6 times per week and keeping 100% #cleandiet ? Sure. Do I feel great at the end of a 100% week? Not really - my body feels #overtrained I feel tired, I get moody, my #hormones start playing up, I find myself overthinking #food and get anxious about consuming too many #calories without actually consuming too many. Do I get 50-50 weeks? Hell yeah. Do I feel great at the end of 50-50 type of week? Not really - during those weeks I don’t have enough #energy to train effectively, my mood is low and I get frustrated about sabotaging all the hard work I’ve been putting in. So I’ve learnt that the 80-20 or even 70-30 rule works best for me and gets me the best #results in and outside of the #gym . It makes me excited about training and I notice that my physical #performance improves immediately. I don’t overthink my diet and eating #wholefoods with a focus on my #macros rather than controlling every single #calorie comes easily. And when the time for a #cheatmeal (or #cheatmeals 😉 let’s be honest here) comes, I truly enjoy every single one of them. So find what works for you, what split makes it enjoyable and sustainable for you to achieve the best results without feeling guilty about enjoying that well deserved glass of wine on a Friday night or going overboard sabotaging the hard work you put in the gym. And once you find it, maintaining it will become effortless. •

Golden beets, with green leaves still attached.... today’s pick from the Beaches Market!
Golden beetroot are a delicious alternative to regular beets. A little less earthy in flavour, than their crimson siblings, they’re gorgeous sliced into wedges and roasted in winter. They also have the distinct advantage of not staining fingers, cutting boards or other foods on the same plate!
Don’t throw out the leaves! Pesticide-free beet greens are packed with nutrition and delicious used in the same way you’d use spinach or other leafy veges. Buying beets with the leaves attached is also a wonderful indicator of how fresh the vege is, as beet greens only stay fresh, green and firm for a few days after harvest.
Check out Johnson’s Farmgate at the Beaches Market, Warriewood next Friday.... maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find your own bunch!
The only bouquet I need this winter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I always get asked how to cook artichoke, the easiest answer - boiling. The yummiest answer, stuffed roasted and pumped with garlic 🤤
Pick these up next time you robotically stroll through the supermarket. These little fellas look Jurassic for a reason, the armour like exterior leaves protect its nutrient dense goodness. Packed with antioxidants, dietary fibre, folate, vitamin C and K.
Mind Health is also linked to what you are putting into your body.🍎🍌
Make sure you are limiting processed food, sugar, alcohol, fast food etc & having a variety for vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds & plenty of water. 😋🍊🥗
