What a great comparison! Although sometimes I just want bacon and I do eat it, I focus on making sure I eat healthy balanced meals and healthy fat. Why? ➡️ well.. it’s better for your body. If you eat a bowl of bacon every day.... you might lose weight however🔜 your heart will remind you that arteries can still get clogged and other issues can happen to your body!
I barely moved today. (Rest day) and I ate a lot of random (Keto) shit. I see this is a pattern on Friday’s. I scheduled my rest days for Monday (first day off of my weekend) and fridays (weigh in days, usually hectic work days). I still struggle with emotional eating and stress binge eating. I haven’t cheated yet but obviously I’m hindering my own progress. We have another week ahead of us, gonna keep up with my routine and even if I still weigh 227 3 months from now at least I know I’ll be stronger lol. I notice a lot of changes in my body, (my partner is starting to notice them too) but it’s not reflecting on the scale. This is the point where I let myself “have a little cheat day” or give up but planet fitness already charged me for the month so I can’t quit now haha. Tomorrow is Clear The Shelter Day which is a holiday for animal shelters across the country so work is gonna be busy. Hopefully I get a decent amount of steps in before the gym.

Two years ago I had emergency removal of that sack o’ stones and another procedure to remove the stone that decided it wanted to escape into my biliary duct. In short, the pain sucked even worse than labor. (I sure wish that guys could appreciate the magnitude of that). I hadn’t actually thought much about it until recently when a friend said she had to get hers removed. The conversation made me realize that my, let’s say, not so firm stool was probably because I was eating so much fat without this little guy in my belly.
After some research, I was pleased to learn a few things from Devan Ciccarelli at Perfect Keto:
🥓 it’s ok to go Keto without your gallbladder (phew! Although I did know this much) with a few minor adjustments
🥓 don’t drink water 30 min before until 30 min after you eat. This will be hard for me. 🥓don’t jump right into it - ease in to the increased fat and decreased carbs so your body can adjust. .
I’m feeling a little salty today but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. 😂 The only glucose your body needs to function can be created in the body from either fats or proteins.
You can get all your energy, essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and nutrients in a diet rich in healthy fats and proteins.
Carbohydrates need not apply.
Doesn’t mean they’re not addictively delicious though. Ha. #keto#ketomeme
I have to keep reminding myself that this journey is not linear, it’s all over the place. I just need to keep working hard and I will see the results I need to see. I’m back down to 227 again. Which is okay by me. It will have been a month on the 18th (from what I can remember) that I started over. I just need to keep pushing and not give up. I’m kinda bummed I’m not seeing the huge weight drop that everyone sees in the beginning but I guess when it’s time to see it, I will. Also I hate the lighting in the employee bathroom wtf.

So I wanted to talk a little about my @keto-mojo and why I use it. I love being able to confirm I’m in nutritional ketosis. Which is .5mmol/L to
3mmol/L. Any where with in those numbers and your in ketosis.
Best times to check is usually in the morning when your fasted, ketones are usually lowest in the morning and rise throughout the day.
So basically if your fasted ketone reading is at least .5, then you know that as you consume fat throughout the day (and keep carbs low) they will rise. .
**I also test my blood glucose levels. I will save that info for another post**.

GARLIC PRAWNS AND I WROTE DOWN THE RECIPE THIS TIME!!! 🍽Rinse the @slendier noodles really well and dry fry in a HOT pan until they stop crackling as much and slightly brown- about 3-5 mins. Set aside. 🍽 In the same pan add the @woolworths_au Crunchy Power Greens and 25g butter and stir until the greens are wilted. Set aside. 🍽 In the same pan add 25g @lurpakau Garlic butter, minced garlic, a sprinkle of dried parsley and prawns. Stirfry until the prawns are cooked. 🍽 Add greens and noodles to the prawns and stir to combine. The noodles will suck up all the sauce so add remaining butter, garlic butter, lemon juice, salt and pepper and stir until combined. 🍽Add pine nuts and stir through. Serve and drool!!! .
Ps I could have added another tbsp garlic to this - I find minced garlic is not as strong as fresh minced garlic which is why I added the garlic powder. .

Honestly I feel pretty good about this week. Tomorrow is weigh in Friday so I have mild expectations honestly if I at least lost 1 lb I’ll be happy. I’ve worked really hard this week and I’m noticing changes in my own body but I feel like it’s not as noticeable to anyone else not even my partner and the scale has become my enemy haha. But whatever happens, happens. I tried an Atkins bar today and honestly it was pretty enjoyable and the net carbs were pretty low. I had 20g Net carbs total today so I think I did okay. Anyway I’m just blabbering. I hope everyone goes into the weekend strong af and comes out even stronger. Don’t let the weekend be your weak end!
