Why buy delicious almond milk when you can make your own quite easily. When you soak a handful of almonds overnight, just blend them on a high speed blender, add honey, filtered water and ice to taste and....Volia! You have bypassed the added carrageenan and are one step closer to taking your nutrition into your own hands.
Inspired by the #nzfoodawards this week and the success of @savournz I decided to throw together a vegan cheese. Let me tell you it is with commitment to personal growth and a yen for CHEESE that I embarked upon this three day journey. 😂 ⛅ 🌞 🌛
So yesterday I soaked 2 cups of walnuts for 6 hrs then rinsed.
To then further the process of activating the walnuts I covered with filtered water and half a cup of leftover krautjuice and did an overnight oven ferment with just the light on, drained and rinsed again. (This second soak is not entirely necessary but hey I have a lot of krautjuice hanging about in my fridge)😁. Now we maketh the Vegan Nut Cheese.
1/3 cup of activated Sunflower seeds (or seeds of preference)
1/2 cup Sauerkraut or other ferm'd veg
1 tsp organic Tumeric, fresh or powdered
1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper or you cld use fresh chillies to activate the #tumeric
1 chopped clove Garlic
Few sprigs herbs of choice
1 loose cup Parsley
1/2inch grated knob fresh Ginger
1, 1/2 tbspns Coconut oil
2 tbspns Extra Virgin Olive oil
Kraut juice or ACV to thin to a smooth but heavy consistency.
So this is my first go and it's quite a plain recipe because I really want to get a sense of the base flavor before I start hurling extra tasty bits in but you know the story, you're only limited by your imagination. 💡💡💡 .
This is ready-to-dive-into-right-now GOOD! But in the interests of culinary experimentation I've put this into an agee jar (with room for it to expand) to ferment this AGAIN in my toasty sunroom for another 24 hours. 🕚🕑🕚 From there we have more options as to how to present it. As a firm dehydrated cheese or something a little more spreadable. ...Depends really on how long I can wait to jump on it. 🔥🔥🔥I'll keep you posted! 👊

Hey guys, Not the best video I've ever made but I wanted you guys to know where I have been. Pet food made my dog so sick she couldn't walk, eat, or drink on her own. Thankfully she is getting better I just don't know if she will have any lasting liver damage over this whole thing. I regret changing her food and feeding her rachael ray nutrish wet food more than anything. 😭

Has not resolved this issue. My cat almost died choking on bones (over an inch long) in Nutrish Dry Food Salmon flavor. I have contacted them repeatedly and they have yet to resolve this issue. I now have to take my cat to the vet to get her throat checked out. Please do NOT buy Nutrish!
I used to CLING to the idea that as long as you exercise, you can eat whatever the floop you want and lose weight like a dream. .
I kept feeding this “logic” to myself, and here’s what my internal dialogue sounded like:
💭 “Geez, I’m not losing weight...but I’m doing everything right! 😒 MAYBE I’M JUST NOT MEANT TO LOSE WEIGHT.”
💭 “I’VE GOTTA BUST MY ASS IN MY WORKOUTS because that’s the way I’ll lose weight.”
💭 “I’m so WEAK!! Why can’t this be easier for me like it is for ________?! I’m just always going to be fat and unhappy. My friends will make fun of me and pity me. I won’t be able to keep up with my son or have more kids, and my husband will probably leave me...”
Awful, awful stuff.
And all because I had a shit method.
And I was afraid to tell myself the truth (ya gotta eat well!) because then I would hold myself accountable and INEVITABLY disappoint myself with my terminal weakness. .

Exercise is friggin’ important, and it’s something I have learned to love, but it’s not the entire puzzle.

Putting a nutrition plan AND exercise regimen into play is hard, y’all!!
You don’t have to do both at the same time. 🤗
Start with your eating.
Lose weight in the kitchen.
BLOW YOUR FREAKIN MIND.
Add in exercise and actually ENJOY IT. (And with some of that weight gone, exercise won’t be as uncomfortable!)🕺🏻

@Regrann from @sunwarriortribe - ‘Tis the season for Vegan PUMPKIN Protein Pancakes! 🎃🥞 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-1 flax egg (1T. flax meal+2T. warm water)
-3 tbsp pumpkin puree
-1 scoop Sunwarrior protein powder (natural or vanilla)
-¼ cup almond milk
-1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
-½ tsp vanilla
-1 tsp baking powder
-¼ cup rolled oats
Make the flax egg (mix flax with warm water) and set aside.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl.
Add in the flax egg.
Spritz a griddle or pan with some coconut oil and turn the heat to medium.
Use a ¼ cup measurement to dump portions of the batter onto the griddle. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes.
When your spatula easily slides under the pancakes, they're ready to flip!
Flip them, then turn down the heat a smidge. Let them cook for another 3-5 minutes.
Remove and eat as is, or top them with some nut butter, coconut/almond yogurt, fruit and some sweetener.
