Last nights dinner... probably not the most popular and some of you may think I’m crazy, but I made “tuna salad” with sardines. These not so popular little guys are packed with nutrients! .
🐟 omega-3 fatty acids important for combatting inflammation and keeping those ❤️s healthy. .
🐟rich in selenium. This mineral is really important for thyroid health. And one can of sardines give you over half of your RDA. .
🐟since the sardines are canned with their bones (I know this grossed some people out) they are a great source of calcium, especially for those who don’t eat dairy. .
🐟 they are also a good dietary source of vitamin D, something a lot of us are deficient in. Vitamin D deficiency is pretty common because most of us aren’t getting out in the sun as much as we used to. But sardines can help you get a little more into your diet in addition so some ☀️. .

I used to truly believe that eating healthy was all about what I shouldn’t eat: cut carbs, avoid sugar, ditch diet soda, etc. I thought that if I just focused solely on eliminating those “bad” foods, that was all I needed to do. I’ve since learned that fueling my body with amazing, nutritious foods is really the first and most important step!  Because....guess what? When you fill up on nutrient-dense, satisfying, fiber-filled clean foods, you start to need the crap food less and less!
First stop 🛑: vegetables!! Don’t be scared!  They really can be just as exciting and delicious and filling as all the other stuff that you think you want more. 
If you’re interested in learning about mindful eating, clean foods and portions...I have an amazing nutrition plan that I would love to introduce you to. Starting a “get healthy” journey can be daunting and overwhelming.  I’m here to help! 😊

I cooked my feelings.  It was perfection.  Tisio crust dough.  Eggs, yellow and red bell peppers.  Anaheim chili.  Rosemary.  Basil.  Splash of white wine.  Tiniest imaginable drop of balsamic.  Queso de pico from fresh thyme.  Small nuggets of feta. FOR THE DRESSING(THE STAR OF THE SHOW): ● Half mashed avacado
● Apprx. Tablespoon of salsa
● Apprx. Tablespoon of dijon mustard
● Teaspoon of vinegar
● Teaspoon of olive oil
● Seasoned with salt, pepper and tumeric. Also added a little more chia seeds

Omg this salad was probably the BEST salad I've ever made. No joke. I'm definitely going to have to try this again 🤤

I haven’t had a gym membership for 8 years (I stopped going when I had my first daughter because I was terrified of leaving her in the childcare center… once you work in a hospital, you become a germaphobe for life). .
I have 3 kids, work from home and outside our home, have no housekeeper, no gardener, no nanny, and a firefighter husband who isn’t home much. .
Exercise doesn’t have to be a big deal… 20-30 min a day. Be creative, look on YouTube, squat while making dinner… it doesn’t matter, just get it in. .
And truthfully, how your body looks is more a function of what you eat than how you exercise. Give up the excuses and just make it apart of your life.

1 egg muffin contains about 8 grams of protein so use that as a reference for how many you need!
To make -
Handful of spinach
Handful spring greens
10 eggs
1/2 cup liquid (milk of choice)
6 slices thick cut bacon
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup feta cheese 
Preheat oven to 350
Saute bacon 5-7 minutes
Whisk eggs + milk. Then add crumbled bacon, spinach, feta and quartered tomatoes.
Distribute evenly in muffin tin.
Bake 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

for the salad:
.
+ 1 box of greens of choice
+ 1/2 cantaloupe, sliced
+ 1/2 honeydew melon, sliced
+ 1/4 large watermelon, cubed
+ a handful of chopped mint
+ 8oz of paneer, cut into slices
+ 1 tbsp olive oil
+ 1 1/2 tsp chaat masala
+ salt to taste
.
for the dressing:
.
+ juice of 1 1/2 lemons
+ 1/2 tbsp honey
+ 1 bunch of mint
+ salt and pepper to taste
.
Steps:
.
1) to a large salad plate or bowl, add the greens, melons, and chopped mint, and toss together. set aside.
.
2) bring a grill pan up to a medium-high heat.
.
3) in a small mixing bowl, add the sliced paneer, olive oil, chaat masala, and a pinch of salt. toss together until the paneer is evenly coated.
.
4) lay the paneer slices onto the grill and cook for about 2 – 3 minutes on each side until you get golden grill marks on the paneer.
.
5) remove paneer from the grill pan and toss into the salad bowl.
.
6) to make the dressing, add all of the ingredients into a small blender and blend until smooth. drizzle over salad and toss together. enjoy!

If you suffer from digestive issues, it’s best to eat Fruit ALONE, and at least 40 minutes prior to a meal! Why? Because Fruits alone, digest relatively quickly, so when you mix fruit with other ingredients that take longer to digest, it can create bloating, indigestion, gas and even constipation! 🙊 So if you’re someone who is confused why you’re still dealing with bloat and digestive issues when eating healthy breakfasts or other fruit containing meals — this could be why! Fruit is also great to eat inbetween meals as a nutrient dense snack! It is a myth however that you shouldn’t eat fruit after 2pm! Organic fruit in its whole form is one of the healthiest things you can eat! Regardless of the time of day! Personally, I love eating fruit as my first solid food of the day and also, whenever I’m craving it! The more fruit you eat the more your body craves it’s nutrients!!!

It’s sad because it just shows how drastically mis-educated we are in schools and by our parents & society. We are taught about SO much shit we will never ever need to know or use, and yet the things we need to be taught the MOST, like, how to love yourself, the importance of whole food & real nutrition, having compassion for all people & animals, how to do taxes, how to build your own business & so much more aren’t even a glimmer on the curriculum’s roster! Ugh!
