Last nights dinner... probably not the most popular and some of you may think I’m crazy, but I made “tuna salad” with sardines. These not so popular little guys are packed with nutrients! .
🐟 omega-3 fatty acids important for combatting inflammation and keeping those ❤️s healthy. .
🐟rich in selenium. This mineral is really important for thyroid health. And one can of sardines give you over half of your RDA. .
🐟since the sardines are canned with their bones (I know this grossed some people out) they are a great source of calcium, especially for those who don’t eat dairy. .
🐟 they are also a good dietary source of vitamin D, something a lot of us are deficient in. Vitamin D deficiency is pretty common because most of us aren’t getting out in the sun as much as we used to. But sardines can help you get a little more into your diet in addition so some ☀️. .
There are lots of ways people enjoy sardines, and this tuna type salad was actually pretty tasty with some @simplemills crackers and apple 🍎.

Did somebody say simple, green summer salad? Switch up the traditional 'green' salad and opt for green tomatoes instead.
Sprinkle with a dusting of our #dulse seaweed (in place of sea salt) and you'll have a smoky, well-seasoned and delicious green summer salad in minutes. The perfect accompaniment to all those late summer BBQs.⠀
Do you ever use seaweed as a seasoning? We'd love to hear your ideas! #ExperimentWildy
I used to truly believe that eating healthy was all about what I shouldn’t eat: cut carbs, avoid sugar, ditch diet soda, etc. I thought that if I just focused solely on eliminating those “bad” foods, that was all I needed to do. I’ve since learned that fueling my body with amazing, nutritious foods is really the first and most important step! Because....guess what? When you fill up on nutrient-dense, satisfying, fiber-filled clean foods, you start to need the crap food less and less!
First stop 🛑: vegetables!! Don’t be scared! They really can be just as exciting and delicious and filling as all the other stuff that you think you want more.
If you’re interested in learning about mindful eating, clean foods and portions...I have an amazing nutrition plan that I would love to introduce you to. Starting a “get healthy” journey can be daunting and overwhelming. I’m here to help! 😊
You know the salad's gonna be bomb when it's hanging off the side of the plate lil 😉😁 WHAT I USED TO MAKE THIS SALAD:
● Spring mix salad
● Roasted tomatoes (25-30 mins, 350°), seasoned with salt, pepper, tumeric, and chia seeds
● Shrimp (25-30 mins, 350°), seasoned with salt, pepper, tumeric, and chia seeds
FOR THE DRESSING(THE STAR OF THE SHOW): ● Half mashed avacado
● Apprx. Tablespoon of salsa
● Apprx. Tablespoon of dijon mustard
● Teaspoon of vinegar
● Teaspoon of olive oil
● Seasoned with salt, pepper and tumeric. Also added a little more chia seeds
Omg this salad was probably the BEST salad I've ever made. No joke. I'm definitely going to have to try this again 🤤
Well, I meant to take a photo of the gorgeous vegetable pasta my darling had waiting for me on my return home from work....but I was so hungry I just ate it! 🤣🤣🤣 Oops!
So instead, I'm sharing this delectable delight - hummus toast. Colourful, healthy, filling and I'm sure this tastes as delicious as it looks! @oatmeal_stories 💖

Mikaële is a dream to work with and made every sip delicious. We knew it was time to take our normal healthy habits to a new level and purge the toxins and rejuvenate our digestion. @greenyourspirit listened to our wishes, likes and dislikes putting together a well-balanced spectrum of juices, soups, elixirs and smoothies. Our appetite was satiated for the three days, and we finished feeling great with no real cravings for anything except clean food. In fact, we are already looking forward to our next cleanse in the Fall! Also, @greenyourspirit offers juices to enjoy even when not on a cleanse. A win-win! Thank you Mikaële for being a beautiful light in this world 💚”
Chocolate is a vitamin, right?
Well no, technically it's not. But did you know dark chocolate is actually very nutritious?
Tough my Dove dark chocolate-mint blend isn't the best version for health, 70%+ dark chocolate is pretty good for you.
Not only can dark chocolate LOWER blood pressure, the average piece of dark chocolate contains: fiber, magnesium, copper, iron, manganese, potassium, selenium, zinc, and phosphorus! Dark chocolate also contains MORE antioxidants than any fruit!
Heart disease is the number one killer of women; 90% of women have a risk factor for heart disease... DARK CHOCOLATE can lower the risk!
I'm not saying go binge eat 8lbs of chocolate, but one or two pieces a day is quite beneficial. Just remember to pick a quality dark chocolate 70% or more.
What's your favorite chocolate?
NO GYM MEMBERSHIP
I love when people tell me they don’t have time… .
I haven’t had a gym membership for 8 years (I stopped going when I had my first daughter because I was terrified of leaving her in the childcare center… once you work in a hospital, you become a germaphobe for life). .
I have 3 kids, work from home and outside our home, have no housekeeper, no gardener, no nanny, and a firefighter husband who isn’t home much. .
Exercise doesn’t have to be a big deal… 20-30 min a day. Be creative, look on YouTube, squat while making dinner… it doesn’t matter, just get it in. .
And truthfully, how your body looks is more a function of what you eat than how you exercise. Give up the excuses and just make it apart of your life.
Soup, glorious soup 🥣 .
Why from a naturopathic perspective do I love soup so much?
Well, for starters, they’re ridiculously easy for your body to digest and then to absorb those beautiful nutrients, you can chuck in veg you don’t normally like and disguise them in ones you do, they’re super nutritious because they’re jam packed with vegetables and personally I love them because they’re warm and nurturing and make my belly happy in the cold weather ❤️🥣🙏
Soup 🥣 .
I’ll pretend it’s pumpkin soup but there’s so many veggies in here I have to admit it’s vegetable soup 😂❤️
This soup is a family recipe I’ve altered along the way for maximum nutritional benefits and heartiness ❤️
What’s your favourite soup? 😍❤️
