... and then the little chicken was six months old... It is no coincidence that this is my first post in, ohhh, six months! These last months have flown by, even when some of the days have seemed to draaaagggg...
There have been so many moments of doubt and exhaustion and wondering whether I can actually do this whole mother thing. And then there have been the first smiles and laughs, the adorable discovery of tiny toes and the joy of watching her find her place in the world (and her giggles as she watches us chop wood). It's definitely unrelenting, being a mama. It is challenging, in a good way. Joyful. It tests your limits and then rewards you with the cutest baby giggles and soft cheeks and pudgy little fingers (with talons instead of fingernails). It's a real privilege. And a terrifying responsibility.
Happy six months Lila Wren. You are a delight.
