Becoming a nurse was a life changing experience. I started college as a traditional undergraduate in nursing school at 17 years old, had just moved across the country, and had absolutely NO idea what I was doing. I really struggled throughout those 4 years! I failed pharmacology, was set back a semester, and had to regain my confidence to graduate on time. It was messy, but it made me the nurse I am today. I know how to overcome hurdles, remain calm, and move forward now because of all the setbacks I faced in nursing school. The journey brought me here and I’m ready to conquer 💪🏻💪🏻
Sometimes the best coffee break
is watching telemetry and analyzing everyone’s rhythm. Tele is one of the cool parts about being a cardiac nurse. I love discussing unique strips and the fact that I can stalk my patients without being in the room 🤓
Safe to say we’ve found our new happy place this fall/winter. The pups and I had a solid nap to sleep off the red eye hangover, I actually slept on the plane but I passed out for a two hours as soon as I got home 😂. Next up we have a workout, a Costco trip and an early bedtime. Hope everyone’s Monday’s are uneventful and have time for naps becuase nap life is the best life.
Being PRN (aka supplemental/very part time) as an ICU nurse can be tricky. It’s a balance btw being at home with my family and raising my kidos against maintaining my skills and knowledge of current Policy & Procedure which I am forever passionate about.
So to say it’s been a minute since I’ve worked a full shift would be an understatement🤣. Like maybe even 6mo. Sure, I’ve had classes, meetings and competencies, but not a full shift per say. •
With that being said, I got butterflies in my stomach going into work On Thursday and Saturday! Was I nervous? A little, but instead of playing into “anxiety” or “nervousness” I utilized the verbiage “excited.” •
I was “excited” to see my peers.
I was “excited” to get back to a fast paced unit.
I was “excited” to use my brain for more than disciplining and potty training.
I’m grateful to have a profession that challenges me in every capacity while embracing my presence when it’s needed. •

”You can have any feeling you want if you find a thought you can believe that will create it. All l that has to be true is believing it. If you believe a thought it will create an emotion.”
You are entirely up to YOU! Today I want to feel happy. I’m tired of feeling sad, tired, sick, and lonely. So today, I’m choosing to be happy. And you should too ☺️🌈💕
Monday morning let’s go!!! ☀️It’s day 1 of 9 in a row and I’m energized and organized 😜 between my clinical hours for my MSN, office days, and charge nurse days, I’m at the hospital ALL the time. At the end of these 9 days, I’ll be done with clinical hours for the semester (148!) 🙌🏼🎉👏🏻
Happy Monday insta peeps! It’s been a hot second since I posted anything fitness related, which is what ultimately started this account....oops 🤷🏻♀️😅.
So, here’s some #realtalk I may have fallen off the health train for the last couple of months! I do mean fallen, fallen and tried to get back on but gave up. This past spring and summer brought trips, weddings, birthdays and parties which meant I indulged a bit much! But hey, that is life and I enjoyed the occasions immensely! .
However, I am not waiting for that magical day called January 1st to get back to feeling good in my own skin! Today is my new day one and I am ready to fuel my body properly and crush my workouts! It’s sanity, not vanity! I forgot how good a workout can clear your head and make you feel like a whole new person! Are you waiting until January first to be the best version of you or are starting now?!
